Thought this may be worth sharing for those of us that are looking for a sale...

I had 2 new front Monroe Gas Matic shocks installed today on my 1995 1500 at Sears for $119.50, with a lifetime replacement (guarantee does not cover labor).

There not Bilsteins but better then the factory ones that were still on mine, by the way them factory shocks almost lasted 200K miles, & I'm still running em on the rear no complaints there!

I'm thinking these Monroe shocks are better that the Bilsteins for our harsh Canadian temps. I know of another thread at the Place with a member who lives in Sask. and has had all kinds of trouble with his Bilsteins.
Good find! Thanks for posting.

I just threw a set of Bilsteins on and there is quite a difference in ride quality. I feel they dampen out a large dip in the road here better than the yellow Monroe's without being harsh. Reliability, well they are new.

Monroe would have been my 1st choice though.

Not sure if there is any difference...these Monroe Gas Matics I had installed are black.

I have run the truck a few hundred miles this week while on vacation...the handling is 10X better then previously with the OEM front shocks that were TOAST.

The ride is still very smooth, I am very pleased. Just be aware that I only have these 2 new Monroe's on the front so far...& my truck has the 168.5" wheel base. The best was I didn't have to install them & they have a lifetime replacement guarantee.
