Hey all,
Had a antifreeze leak in my Sub, and finally found it. The rear heat tee was dripping when I shut down the engine. Like a dummy I touched it and it broke. Hopefully the cat that has been walking on my Porsche will find some...Anyway I need the part number for the plastic tees as I have heard they have a restrictive orifice designed into them.

Heres a picture.

Gm does not sell the connector (tee) seperately, the part# is 15979269. It is a piece of hose that comes with the connector.

I walked into either NAPA or Autozone and bought a heater hose T that worked just fine for mine. Just need to know what size hose you are dealing with.

I confirm diesel65 has the correct p/n. However, if you really think you want to match orifice size... it is 11/64" (.203") diameter orifice to the rear supply AND return. I measured mine before install.

As for wether or not we need them? I have yet to see someone chime in on the heater function at sub-zero temps. I don't have time on our diesel project suburban yet, but it has fuel mizer precups so I'm sure it will make heat. As for my '95 pickup with T or Diamond cups... you can't walk away from it at idle and -30 deg F and expect it stay at thermostat temp. You have to turn the fan to low and the temp to the hottest setting. I never had to do that with a 6.2L. The orifice stuff has to be a max temp thing or maybe something to do with engine startup/warmup? Maybe you only need the orifice with the big pre-cups? I can about imagine the fuel it takes to keep a Suburban toasty at sub-zero? The hotter those rear heat hoses get, the more heat you waste to the atmosphere, right?

Oops I missed the part about an orifice in them. Also didnt see something like that in mine. My rear heat seems to work ok so far... but then again, I only replaced one Tee...

I used 5/8 Copper PEX tubing barbs soldered into a 3/4" copper T. Still good after 6 years
I am thinking that is the way to go. I did rig up a tee with left over parts last night so I can drive it. I went to the local stealer this afternoon and they want $68.00 each for the short hoses and the tee's. They are not available separately. Oh yeah and 10 day delivery from the USA. Apparently the orifice restricts the flow of water to the rear heater or front heater (can't remember)...
