Hi all,

I'm seeking for a 3.73 rear end to replace a worn one on a 1997 K1500. I have the solution of buying a new differential kit + new axle shafts & bearings, but it might be the opportuity to swap to a full float 6 lugs if it does exist and is compatible.

Anybody can share informations about that?

Also, any good adress where I can find a complete kit for disc brakes, with parking brakes?

Thanks a lot for your help ;)

I'm not sure if it will fit. I know 1999 1500 will accept a 02 2500 rear axle. If you can measurements on the perch and if they are not the same, then you can always cut them and move them to fit.

That 11.5" rear axle in the EBAY ad is a MASSIVE piece. The 11.5" rear axle is standard equipment behind the DURAMAX, the 8.1L in the trucks, and all 3500's. The spring perches will most likely have to be rewelded to work as the newer trucks frame rails are set furthur apart unless it's a cab and chassis model.

Regarding rear discs I highly recommend TSM manufacturing company for this, just google TSM brakes. Go with the double caliper brackets and install a separate hydraulic caliper and their mechanical ebrake. I tried the Caddy combination calipers first and was not impressed. TSM were great they took back my partly used caddy calipers in exchange for the mechanical units. Luckily just in case I had installed the double caliper mounts from the start.

Cheers
Nobby
