hey everyone,

I am wiring up trailer wiring on the 95 GMC for the trip home, and was wondering about this goofy harness I have on the truck. if its factory, I am going to leave it alone and hack the plug off the body, but if its not factory, off it goes and I will wire up a factory plug eventually.

so far, all I have ever seen is the weatherpack connector that is 4 pin. you seperate it and put in a t-harness for trailer wiring.

I have this: rsz_100_1458.jpg

that is the truck end, and both the red and white wires come off it.

I take it its not OEM and I need to get the proper connectors?

thanks!

ok, I am convincing myself this isnt factory, so at some point I will correct it. to make it home, I will be using it, so I think i will hack the connector out of the body, and eventually correct it as well.

there does seem to be enough wiring left that I can put a weatherpack connector back on, so I ask, do you folks have your own weatherpack kits? if so, which ones do you use?

I found one on ebay, and I assume you just use regular terminal pliers to do the wiring? http://www.ebay.com/itm/460pc-Weath...t=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item35c4b0c622&vxp=mtr

thats what I was figuring. rather than re-wire it now, I think I will hack the service bed harness (easy decision after I saw I sat the box on one side of the harness. oops :) ) and hard wire it to a plug, then when I get home re-do it to OEM.
