I stopped at a friends house. When I went to leave. The truck started for 1/2 second and died. After that it was obvious it was not getting any fuel.

I will start by hot wiring the lift pump and running 3/4 gallon out the drain. Then check the fuel filter, then swap out the PMD. Then go for the fuel shut off solenoid.

ANY OTHER IDEAS?

Optic sensor?

If anybody wants to post any links to testing the fuel shut off solenoid or the optic sensor, feel free. I've never had a vehicle act like this before.

This truck has never given any indication of any problem til now.

Thanks
Jeff

We changed the filter. Haven't got to drain the tank yet.

We swapped the PMD. Found out the extension plug connection had been siliconed by the injection pump - silicone inside around the pins - looked pretty crappy. Another source of possible problems.

Should this rum in limp mode with the optic Sensor unplugged? We unplugged the optic sensor and nothing changed as far as starting.

Where do the codes come up on the dash when you jumper the A & B pins? What part of the dash should I be looking at?

All I saw happen was the SES light flashed 6 times then 8 times and repeated til I unhooked the pin connector.

What is the red wire on the PMD cable supposed to read for voltage? We read .21 volts when cranking the truck over.

Can I get clean fuel & feed it through the supply line into the injection pump for a source of clean fuel?

Going for the fuel shut off solenoid next

Thanks for all the help. We had it running about 6:30 PM.

Still not positive on the cause. The last thing we did was pull the return line and run it to a container.

The truck started immediately.

Probably not advised, but we put the blower on the air line and blew the return line.

Tomorrow I will let it run and look for return line leaks.

We never drained the fuel. But we did add 18 gallons and a bottle of Sea Foam after it was running.

Thanks to you guys and a good friend.

I thought we would be dragging it home after the fuel shut off solenoid proved to be good when we pulled it.

Then we tried the return line. Success.

I'd never heard of the return line issue til today and wouldn't have checked it, If I hadn't received some dang good advice.

Thanks to all.
