I bought the truck, the guy i bought it from told me he would be driving down the road and the truck would die just like you turned the key off, he said you could put it in neutral and start it right back up, it done that for a while, then shut off and wouldnt start back,

engine cranks battery is brand new, all lights come on glow plugs etc

i do know that i am getting NO fuel to the injectors.... ???

if the pmd box is not working would it cause it not to have power to the fuel pump?

Any help is appreciated

thanks

Sounds like a PMD, if that is cooked your injector pump will not run.
It probably got cooked form being on the pump, a new one with a relocation kit outside of the engine bay is a good idea.
Heath Diesel is one of the more popular sellers of these kits

hmm

thanks guys thats good to know, ill be ordering one today, ive been reading around and evidently this is a common problem, mine is already on the firewall, someone has already replaced it so im gonna install mine there also..

i appreciate it

First off, Welcome to DTR, Joe.

Next, spend a little time in the Tech reference library (top of page) lots of good info on the what and why's.

The firewall is not a good place for the PMD/FSD, out of the engine bay is best.

Get the PMD down into the bumper like recommended. Are there any stored codes? If the PMD doesnt fix it, which it most likely will, then there may be a PMD cable problem, a bad ground perhaps (check this first).

If all else fails, then the fuel shutoff solenoid may be an issue.

When you say it seems like you shut off the key, that makes people think that its an IGN issue, like all the lights and radio shut off too, etc....

definitely pull codes if any, then be VERY, VERY careful as to who you get a PMD from. there are a lot of rip-offs out there. If you research it, you will find the driver fails from heat soak, so follow above advice and get it out of the engine bay. try Heathdiesel.com, or look into several others-do YOUR research and do not choose the cheapest-you will pay for it, over and over(beware e&ay deals).

The PMD is the biggest and easiest item to fix correctly. check you lift pump as well. fill out your signature so we know your truck, and welcome aboard the best 6.5 site-PERIOD.
