Looking at buying a truck that needs major work. 205K on it.
Said to need an IP to correct engine miss. Heads and injectors were replaced in an attempt to solve problem.
Has new heads (old ones were cracked).
Valve covers on wrong sides. Mechanic may not know what he is doing.
Rebuilt injectors.
All injector lines are missing hold downs and rubber.
Fuel leak off the back of the engine.
No glow plug light.
Starts after jumping glow plug controller. Smokes, in puffs, white then clears up.
Has a miss at all RPM's and will rev up to limiter. (Engine jumps and shakes at idle.)
Blowby normal and no puffs indicating a bad piston.
Oil looks and feels good.
SES light on. On when engine is running. Did not pull codes.
Suspect crossed injector lines. Possible loose injector line on pump killing a hole as well.
Would the engine even run with two dead holes from crossed injector lines?
Anything in the IP that would cause a miss? If it runs I just can't see why it would be.
