To repair where the hub oil seal rides. Presses over the existing worn stub. Supplied install tool cannot be used- too short. I used a clean square cut piece of pipe.

National / Moog part #99282 Made in USA

The axle repair

Another alternative to a 'pipe' is to cut the end out of the supplied sleeve 'driver' in the photo. It's held in place to a piece of SS 3 inch tubing with some masking tape. Some 3 inch tube is too thick and will present problems when using the tubing itself to drive on the sleeve. It will mar the new sleeve sealing surface. A safeguard is to use some vinyl electrical tape to protect the sealing surface when using a 'driver' of any kind..

I chose to use red loctite anaerobic sealant to help prevent any leakage under the repair sleeve.

Drive on sleeve in the spot where the seal rides. Don't just stop when it's flush with the 'end'... You need to make sure the oil seal is riding 100% on the NEW surface.

The flange will need to be removed as it's only a means to drive on the sleeve. As per instructions use sidecuts to snip the flange, then carefully peel the flange off along the sleeve 'scribe'... Don't just YANK it away... Very carefully peel it to the inside, AWAY from the sleeve. This keeps the new sealing surface from distorting and getting messed up.
