Not sure. But I do know that it comes down to one of two, Ford or Chevy. It will be used and a diesel. I always like a slightly used vehicle over a new one. Let someone else take that big depreciation hit. :D

Gm, Ford, or Dodge. No foreign name plates for me. Ever! Period!

If I sell the jeep and have the money to do a build off of a 1 ton truck - I'd sure like to find a 6.5 1 ton 4x4, or a 7.3L F350 4x4. After owning the dodge and putting up the front end, I'm staying clear - unless its got the 12 vlv and its a great deal!

My next vehicle will not be for a long time.

When I do it will be a Chevrolet and preferably a Diesel.

Gonna be this year, and not sure of Ford or GM, but gonna be a diesel!! Crew Cab Long Bed 4x4. Gotta have room for the Dogs / Decoys or Dead Deer (plural). Prefer used, 2-3 yrs old. My 'Burb is 15 yrs old, so 2-3 doesnt bother me!!

I voted Chevy. (how about some love for the GMCs?) :D

I got to do some calculations, but i have ran across a ECLB 1995 GMC C2500HD 6.5L 5spd manual 2wd. upper 100Ks for miles, loaded cab..not sure what to think on that..nice to use, bad to maintain. Anyways, if all calculations work, I will be buying another truck this year. If I ran across a 2wd dodge cummins for cheap, i would look into that as well. I did find a 99 ECLB DRW 3500 2wd cummins six speed, gloss white, 260K miles, 6 grand..not cheap enough, IMHO.

What i had in mind for this truck is part time trailer delivering, and other forms of things to pay for it.

To get to the point of this poll, I really don't mind that GM went broke, it mainly reflects back on their PPM (piss poor management), not their products. yes ford is better at managing, but their products are not too wifty.
Look at companies that had some of the best things on the planet, and look how PPM worked for them. Mainly marmon harrington motor co, maker of the marmon trucks that ended production in 1997, all handbuilt in Texas! I do believe they are still alive, but they dwindled down to doing nothing but 4wd conversions for army trucks.

Ask me in about 15 years or so. Way too early to say. At the rate GM's are getting lower and lower, in 15 years they will have about 1 1/2 inches of clearance up front.

Dyen in the wool GM

Even IF Chevrolet and GMC go away completely, I will rebuild, reproduce, resuscitate, revamp, reconstitute, recycle a GM truck just because I can.

New? What's that?

D'y'ed in the wool GM.

Agreed. Hell there are a few today that I want to do that to.

x2 on some GMC love.

you need another option

the best truck for the best price in my price range....... although the likely hood that I will ever own a Nissan is rather low..... my wife on the other hand likes the CCSB Frontier 4x4 with the 6spd manual gear box and S/C V6...... not that we could ever afford 1.... after she graduates we will have $98,000 in Financial aid to pay back, the Army only covers about half that.

it will be a diesel, and a manuel. what that makes it, who knows. depends on what i can get at that point, new or used.

My next truck will be a chevy, diesel DWR extended cab. When my current ones expire hopefully a while from now lol.
