also what have you heard about needing a non commercial class A when towing a 5th wheel with triple axles???

what is the towing weight limit for a 5th wheel? and pull behind limit?
The Max GVWR for the truck is 9,200 lbs
The Max GCWR for the truck and trailer is 22,000 lbs.
The Max weight for a pull behind trailer is 12,000 lbs.

The Max weight for a 5th wheel depends on how much your truck weighs when loaded with fuel, people and luggage.

Max GVWR for truck is 9,200 lbs. Subtract the actual weight of the truck from that and then divide by 0.15 and it should give you the max trailer weight with 15% pin weight.

For example: My truck weighs 7,100 lbs with fuel, me, the wife and luggage.

9,200 - 7,100 = 2,100 lbs

2,100 lbs / 0.15 = 14,000 lbs max trailer weight with 15% of that weight on the 5th wheel pin. Which gives me a combine weight of 21,100 lbs.

Hope this helps. :)

EDIT: Keep in mind that my truck has an Extended Cab. A Crew Cab truck probably weighs a couple of hundred pounds more, so the payload would be that much LESS.
