i am worndering if anyone could make me an smoke tune.. i have an 03 duramax.. i need help makeing one if anyone knows howor if you have one i could you thanks...

the truck has stage 5 tranny, dual lift pumps, dual exhaust, boost valve, intake. thanks alott....

Just be careful, smoke tunes can do damage to the trans still. I wrote a tune for mine that was smokey when I wanted it to be, and well turns out I wanted it to be a little too much. Now I gotta fix my tranny.

he's already got a trans so thats not an issue...add lots of pulse width, and adjust the TBIQ table to command more fuel at lower rpms (low boost areas) that will get you started you can tweak from there. Make sure you adjust timing also otherwise your EGTs will be through the roof.

im not realy looking for a smoke tune my truck already smokes lol. im trying to get a good race tune that makes around 30psi... i have a stage 5 tranny/converter tts dual lift pumps, s&b intake, boost valve.. my truck only make around 24-26 psi.. and it dosnt pull hard in 1st or 2nd but in 3rd and 4th and 5th it pulls good but i just dont know how to make more boost...

hmmm if I Recall stock boost is 18 to 20 psi. so it must be a tuning issue that the boost is limited to 26. should be able to get close to 30 with the ppe valve.and a sluggish bottom end I would attribute to tuning as well.
might try posting the tune up for some of us to look at.

that tune in my truck would pull hard all the time and made 35psi.

Maybe try logging it for us.

and like i said ill post the updated tune soon hopefully.

i have the suncoast 1058 converter.. and i am running ppe's boost valve..
Check out this thread
converter will not lock under wot - EFILive Forum
Apparently there have been some problems with the 1058 failing to lock in the lower gears. From what I gather, it's a looser converter and there is something with the slipping that makes it so it does not lock. I know the looser converters will build boost better, but what I was thinking is that I don't want to have a lot of extra boost while the converter is not locked because I don't want it to damage the transmission. So I have my kit ordered with the 1056.

My 1055 is an even looser converter than the 1058 and will lock in lower gears just fine, but if your really on it, it waits to lock. In 5th at WOT it wont lock till over 90mph.

But the 1055 has been a good converter for everybody, I know the 1058 has had some issues.

well im running the 512 tune that was made by durallymax.. the tune pulls good in 3rd and everything but for some reason it dosnt pull good in 1st or 2nd im worndering if it has too much fuel or timing down low or something if so how would i change that . thanks everyone

It could just be that the converter is not locking. Is it revving, or is it hanging at lower RPM's? Have you logged commanded and actual fuel pressures? When was the last time you changed the fuel filter?

Was this tune made for power in the low-mid range, or is it a top end tune? I know when I tuned my uncles topkick, I only tuned it for a certain range. It idled like stock, and was pretty close to stock from around 23-2500 RPM's up. But it had a lot of fur between 1000-2300 RPM's.

the truck fuel pressure is asking for 23500 and its is getting 26000 so it has the pressure the truck is like it has too much fuel at take off it just boggs the it starts to take off when the smoke starts to legear off....

^^^exactly. Let me guess after 1800RPM it pulls hard. Thats called turbo lag. Youy cn make it a little better with some tweaking down low.

This tune is more of a mid to top end tune. The peak power band is over 2900RPM.

yeah that is exactly what it is turbo lag... how can i tune down low cuz my friend has this tune in his truck and it runs perfect.. i dont think he changed anything but yeah after like 2000 it pulls real hard.. and if i put the truck in tow/haul it spikes real quick and pulls like hell... thanks alot...

well you can try taking out a little bit of timing but there is only so much you can do. Turbo lag is turbo lag and theres on ly so much you can do to get rid of it.

so witch table do i change to change the timing to try to get it to pick up down low/ turbo lag...

Base Timing A, B, And C are all the same in that tune. So change one of them then copy and paste it into the rest. Ex. if you chnge A, paste into B and C also. Our trucks normally use table C for most areas of the country. Table A is for high altitude.

ok thanks that is what i fig.. so how much do i need to change... change the table like by 10% or what... thanks alot been alot of help. i also changed my fuel filter and now running the afe filter and it feels as it picked up a lil down low now...
