my 02 will not start. It has power to everything but will not click or even try to turn the starter over. I wasnt sure if it had a starter relay or where it was to check it. I havent checked to see if it has power to the starter, I had to leave for work.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok. Do you happen to know where the switch is at? I was going to grab a relay at the aprts store in the morning and try it, its only 10 bucks so its worth a try.

I too would check the NSBU switch.

It sits on the drivers side of the tranny behind the front driveshaft around where the front shaft goes into the T case.

YOu will see your shift linkage on there and a bunch of wires coming out of it.

thanks. That probably would be whats wrong. I just had another tranny put in the truck and it wouldnt start after the guy put it in. I can jump the wires to the starter and it starts so I was thinking the switch or the starter relay. Thanks guys Ill check it tommorow again.

if he just put it in then that is definately a possibility. What does the dash read when in park??? Try moving the shifter to different positions and see if it starts. If so you need to adjust your NSBU switch. To do this discconect the front driveshaft, remove the two electrical plus(use some heat) and loosen the two bolts with a 13mm socket. then adjust the position and give it another shot.

Thanks Ill try it in the morning. the selector is right in the dash. Ive tried to start it in neutral and nothing. I tried wiggling the shifter back and forth and it still wont start. Ill try your advice of moving it. If it matters the tranny I put in was from an 05 and my truck is an 02. I know the tranny cooler lines were different sizes but everything else looked identical.

Sorry Tracker, my brother was involved in a very bad accident with his 08 dmax. hes in a coma along with his passenger. Ive been at the hospital with him for the last 13 days waiting to see if he is going to make it. his 02 is sitting and is on the bottom of my to do list at the time. Thanks for asking though.

Sorry to hear that nate. We'll keep them in our thoughts and prayers. I hope everything comes out alright.

Thanks Tracker, He needs all the prayers he can get right now. I just wish he would wake up so we could talk to each other. At least he is breathing on his own now, thats a big plus for my family. Thanks again.

Thanks, Max. Im going after work to see him again. My mom says he is starting to open his eyes and look around some. He doesnt have any medical insurance either so i can just imagine what thats going to cost.
