times 2, I don't see, feel, hear any problems. when I stomp on the throttle I get some black smoke and gets up to highway speed nicely. Is it supposed to take off like a raped ape and I don't realize there is a problem? any help would be appreciated.

2000 chevy 3500 6.5 TD 126000 miles. recently replaced PMD with aftermarket remote location

Got 25inHg at the solenoid Zero out. how do I tell if the waste gate solenoid is turning on when needed?

I is controlled by the ECM and MAP\IAT sensor if i remember correctly

If it fails it usually set the seslight

I had the same code pop up on me right after performing a whole lot of work. Turns out is was the sensor. Not sure about the smoke and not taking off like a, well, abused ape though.

My thoughts are that if the sensor is setting a code then the PCM isn't getting the right data and is winging it and you're seeing the results out the back. Someone else will have to give you the tech talk as to why.

Its suppposed to have full vacuum at idle, but only passes about 15-18", so your solenoid is not letting vacuum through at idle. Its bad. The solenoid gets 12V source, the PCM regulates the grounding of it. It will switch the ground on and off to pulse width modulate it.

Just put a new solenoid in, have vac at waste gate and the arm moved now. doesn't smoke nearly as much when I stomp on it. I was kinda expecting a more dramatic increase in performance. how do I know the turbo is actually blowing correctly?

Install a turbo gauge meter, tap into the intake top, or use the bolt from Burning Oil.
You could also connect the GM-Tech or other program to read the boost.
