An easy place to get the wheels is on the cucv trailers. They sell pretty cheap sometimes, have a great axle, and great hydraulic brakes. many have hummwv rims and tires, usually in like new condition.
I did a 6.5 build that had glow plug dents on the pistons. When I went to replace the rings, they were tight in the pistons. Had to replace the pistons. If your rings fit ok, you are probably ok, especially if you aren't adding a turbo.
I don't really know what I should do. Asking advice before I pull the trigger. The 6.2 looks like it's drop in ready. Been resealed, new glow plugs, and new fuel pump in military crate.
Ok. Getting ready to put a military 6.2 takeout with my 6.5 heads in my old truck. Wondering if I should use a thicker gasket to lower compression. My heads are the chinese new manufacture. I'm wondering if I should just use the 6.2 heads. I'll pm you as soon as I get it in my truck.
Anything new? Dennis, could you make a thread showing us how you are emulating, or does that involve things that we don't have all the correct components yet?
Wait on the tune. The stuff coming down the pipe is almost free. You can even try some of the ones that exist already to see if you like the improvements.
