I'll be testing a new converter in a couple weeks and I'll send the SC1057 to Suncoast for a look inside during this testing period.
The truck is operating normal so far. The 2nd gear launch is sweet, but the converter must take a pretty good hit at the line while boosting to 3000 RPM.
Well, had a little trouble running the second gear launch the other night.
95 degree temps and I ran two events. I made it into the finals of both events, so there was some hot lapping involved. In the semi's of one event I made a pass after sitting at the line waiting for a 17 sec diesel...
Funny, I just went through the same thing this week with my TTR225. I called the state and in Idaho.... head light, tail light/brake light, one mirror, and a horn. I had a head light(no high beam), so I bought a tail light, mirror, and a bolt on brake light switch, total was 28.00 and I'm...
You do not need the filter lock with a factory deep allison pan. They were designed to work perfectly with the allison deep sump internal filter. The deep pans are on every topkick/kodiac without a filter lock. Now some aftermarket deep pans need the filter lock, but not the Allison.
Thought I'd post up to get things rolling on my favorite subject.
I've been running 1st gear delete at the track lately. Launching in second gear really helps when the track prep is less than stellar. I can still cut faster 60' times in 1st gear and a really sticky track, but not by much...
EFI for the 5 speed trucks can load a 2 or 5 position tune into the truck for "on the fly" changes.
6 speed trucks are still stuck with loading one tune at a time. Hopefully someday, there will be an option for us 6 speed guys.

May 17th is the "Hot Truck Nationals" at Firebird raceway. There will be a diesel event as well as a street truck event.
May18th is a dyno competition.
Well I finished the Diesel Power Challenge last week. My best finish was 3rd in the MPG test, which is 150 mile trip up into the mountains of Utah.
I averaged 23.47 for the trip, even found out I had the A/C on the whole way
This was using an EFI Live tune that dynos 450-475RWHP on stock LBZ's...
Held so far at 650 RWHP, 100+ 1/4 mile passes in the 11's and low 12's for over a year. Hopefully it has some life left in it. All it needs to do is live for another week:D
Well with the Diesel Power Challange coming up next week and me competing in it against some of the baddest trucks in North America, I'm making a few changes today and tomorrow.
New larger second turbo
New BD manifold
New custom built up pipes
Looks like a long couple days. I'll then try...
