    1976 C30 swap from LS to 6.5TD

I was planning to have TSP coat them but I will look up the diamondeze treatment you mentioned and go from there. I’m still fairly new to this engine platform so I want to do it right, I appreciate any input I get from y’all

    1976 C30 swap from LS to 6.5TD

That’s good info, I will definitely pay attention to that when I go to find pistons then. Thank you

    1976 C30 swap from LS to 6.5TD

I’m planning to stick with stock compression and run a little thicker head gasket with studs. Found a set of Hyper-eutectic pistons on eBay for a good price, I’m gonna have them coated as well. I don’t want to run major boost, just an HX40 turbo and keep it set at a decent pressure.

    1976 C30 swap from LS to 6.5TD

Found a good ‘82 6.2 short block. Main webs look perfect, will be getting new pistons, bearings and all the gaskets/seals. I plan to run the 6.5 top end and turbo set up on this bottom end and block so once I get it to the machine shop for hot tank, hone and deck block/surface heads I’ll get to...

    1976 C30 swap from LS to 6.5TD

I’d also like to mention it was spray painted when I got it, I did not do that. I’ve already spent about 11 hours wetsanding the black off and still have some more to do

    1976 C30 swap from LS to 6.5TD

Hello all, here’s my 76 C30 CC I recently got a hold of. It was ugly as sun when I got it and the previous owner did an LS swap very poorly. I’ve been fixing it up as I drive it but my goal is to yank the LS and stuff a 6.5 diesel in it soon. Luckily it already has an NV4500 swapped as well so I...

Thank you for the welcome, and yessir I live in Ennis which is a little south of Dallas. Moved here from Florida a few years ago and couldn’t be happier haha. I’ll be updating my profile and starting a thread for the old beast as soon as I get a chance as well. I build cars at home while taking...

Thank you! I was planning on repainting it but I’m not too mad about the original orange and white as it is. It had been spray painted black by someone else before I got it so I’ve spent about 11 hours wet sanding the black off lol. Can’t imagine why anyone would want to paint over the two tone

I appreciate the info and the welcome. I will set up my stuff here shortly, I’ve seen a lot from Leroy and TSP as well especially on Facebook. That single cab was my Frankenstein, 83 cab, 84 front clip, 82 6.2, and 89 SM465 haha. I miss it every day but I don’t regret trading for my crew cab...

Thank you for the welcome! I am going to be active very often so I’m glad to see this isn’t a dead forum. Progress will be a little bit slow since I daily drive my old truck but it gives me time to build up my diesel engine the right way.

Hello, just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully have some questions answered. I have a 1976 Chevy C30 that I’m going to be swapping a 6.5 into as soon as I get everything together. Got an engine already with mostly everything but the block and pistons turned out to be in really bad shape...
