I've been leaning toward having the remote start installed, and this will push me over the edge. Does anyone have a Long Island shop that they'd recommend? Or am I better off tackling this myself?
IIRC, it was $54.00. It was the exact same part/manufacturer as the original. I guess I can look forward to replacing it again in another 60k miles. :mad2:
I got it resolved. It was the blower resistor...NAPA part # BR 474. Turns out it's a pretty common failure. Remove the black cover (at your toes as a passenger) to access the resistor. The resistor has a 1 red and 1 black 10 ga wire connector. I was lucky, 'cause I only needed to replace...
OK, manual dual zone hvac in truck. I had the fan on level 5, the panel vents selected, ac on, and recirc on. Under acceleration/load, smoke came puffing out the dash vents, more noticably from the vent just right of the radio. Smelled like a Lionel train set - electrical smoke. I can replicate...
Interesting. I'll have to stop by the shop next week to take a tour. I never knew they existed!! Nice to utilize the local talent when you can. Good luck!
That's a good question for an instructor to answer...'cause I don't remember. The old adage "better safe than sorry" dosen't always apply; I got points deducted for stopping at a flashing yellow instead of proceeding w/ caution (I freaked out a little). Slowing for a school zone sounds like a...
Or if you're taking your road test.:smile5: I was told by instructors to stop at RRs, even though I was only testing for Class B w/ air endorsement.
As far as "standard height", If it's unmarked, it's 14' or higher, IIRC. Still need to call out unmarked heights...
School zones are simple...
You've got to know your pre-trip like the back of your hand. Practice it until you can do it in your sleep, it will be among the first things you do for your test. I remember being told to "call out" the height of upcoming overpasses too...seemed odd at the time, but it is quite practical...
An ad for a SDG Pit Bike recently peaked my interest. Anybody have any experience with these? Anything to avoid? Or should I just get a gas golf cart...I'm looking for something to scour the car shows with.
Not everybody! To answer your question; My duals are super quiet, only thing I hear in the cab is a rumble at about 2k rpm. Cat delete pipe is coming soon, so my answer will probably change afterwards...at least I hope so!
