The flasher I have is a 3 pin black plastic box. There is one under the driver dash for hazards and another more in the middle under the dash for turns.
Yeah you're right. Had he not mentioned that I probably wouldn't have even looked at the trailer plug. Something was messed up with the nut behind the steering wheel which seems to have caused the trailer plug to get rammed into something and bent the pins. I never thought they could have been...
1995 K2500 HD w/ 6.5. Just installed a Curt below bed gooseneck hitch. Had a gooseneck trailer attached on the hitch, verified it was seated and latched....connected pin into latch. Attached safety chains.
Backed on a 12-13k lbs off road forklift onto beaver tail of trailer and as I was...
Nope you can pull the MF switch by just removing the shrouds and then taking out the ignition tumbler.
I figured it out. Found my 7 way trailer plug was smashed and a couple of the contacts were touching. After bending them back turn signal flashes again so hoping that's all it was.
You are correct. And another flasher for the hazards. Neither hazards or RH flashes. LH flashes fine. I'm thinking it could be the multi function switch at this point
not sure what you mean by trailer plug T? It does have a 7 way connector under the back bumper
I also just checked the ground at the back ( i guess the rear lights all run to the same ground, on the LH rear frame rail i think). i took apart and cleaned up, no change.
I am having a hard time figuring out what should be a pretty simple fix i feel like. I lost my flashing turn signal on the right side only. LH works fine. Turn signal flashes and everything lights up like it should. But on the right side, it just lights up only, no flashing. Hazards also do not...
Yeah 4=OD because trans ratio is .75 to 1 (over driving). That's why they call it overdrive, output shaft spins faster than engine
3=D because that's 1:1 or direct driving. Shafts spinning same rate input/output
2 and 1 are underdrive gears with ratios of like 1.5 and 2.5 to 1. Engine spins...
There are a few things that will keep the computer from commanding the solenoid to lock up the TCC.
Trans temp is one, needs to be warmed up
Brake switch is another
Engine coolant temp sensor will also play a role
There are others too but these are the main ones i can remember. Make sure your...
Got over 2000 miles now on this latest rebuild, and its been at least 500+ miles since its set a DTC87 code. I am not out of the woods yet but things seem to be trending in a good direction at least. Im gonna keep driving it and hopefully she keeps working.
Thanks again for the help everyone!
Just curious if anyone has a truck camper they haul around with their 6.5 rig, and what kind of mileage you are getting roughly?
I have a K2500 6.5 with 4.10 rear end. I get 15-16mpg consistently unloaded. Trying to determine approx what my mileage would drop down to if i was hauling a 1500lb...
I have to agree with dbrannon, seems like your thermostat may be stuck open if you are running that cool. On my truck it will get to 180/190 fairly easily and stay there pretty well usually, and ive noticed that on other 6.5 vehicles also. 185-195 is the norm i feel like when regular driving...
Hi Everyone,
When i look at the color code on my truck (inside the glove box), for whatever reason, it shows the code for Emerald green (so maybe a replacement glove box or something??).
My truck is dark blue and silver, and so far as i can tell, definitely a factory color scheme for 1995...
Yeah thats a good idea, i did check PCS command, which is what sets the pressures, and looked about the same on that other vehicle. So reason to believe pressures should be comparable. But i could do some more comparison.
At this point ive got about 1k miles on the trans and everything seems...
I have tried but maybe i need to take another look. I have not found any indication of any wire damage anywhere really.
I was able to test the 6.5TDscan program on another 6.5 diesel that wasnt having problems, and the speed signal dropout appeared to be completely normal (the other vehicle...
Awesome. When you get it back and have the scan program hooked up, if its not too much trouble, i would be curious to also see what kind of TCC slippage you are getting when cruising at 50-60mph with TCC locked. I went for a drive today and my truck did well, and i found always 1-3 RPM slippage...
Ok wow, well if 40psi is normal during a low throttle 1-2 shift maybe I don't have any pressure problem at all then. I just figured it was abnormally low considering it's 150psi while driving in first under the same throttle level, however maybe that is just how they have them tuned for whatever...
yeah i will be curious to see if you get anything similar. Consider yourself lucky! I am running out of things to try with this truck and i am somewhat afraid i will have to give up soon
