Update
Had to shift to building our house which is finally done, woo, so back to the truck now.
Transmission shop rebuilt the transmission with billet parts and on each test drive at a stop the truck would shut down. On restart the truck would drive normal. They had to rebuild 3 more times...
The crankshaft sensor not being plugged in definitely hid a lot of issues. Now that it has been plugged in the truck runs better, but randomly stutters every now and then, BUT I think that is related to something else. I believe whatever this is, is entirely electrical. So the hunt for the...
Happy Anniversary dude! Got it and thank you!
I'm in Tallahassee/Monticello, FL.
It was a swap after I cracked my old stock 6.5 NA. So brand new 6.5 GEP, Super 77 turbo. Most of the hoses are now new. The transmission is practically as I had them do a billet build and they wound up changing...
I believe it's jumping around as the wiring isn't shielded, I could be wrong. A side thought possible brake switch issue? I know they can cause mayhem when they start failing, but I've never dealt with it so I'm not entirely familiar with symptoms.
Help me to understand, because I think you...
Well...crap.
However, the DS4 has a camshaft sensor in it, right? I came upon a blurb at one point that mentioned it in passing. If the DS4 has a sensor, and I'm still DB2, I'm still down a sensor. All you have on your truck is the CPS? Just want to rule it out before I move on to hunting for...
2 wires.
I'll double check that there isn't a loose connection. Since the trans light went out once I plugged it in there is definitely some amount of communication, but clearly it's still not 100%, and with my DB2 (and they probably assumed it was DS4) it makes me think it's not compatible...
Interesting. So the Reluctor would make the crankshaft sensor work with the DB2 setup, then my TCM would finally be happy? I'm guessing since my engine was setup intended for a turbo, and they were thinking DS4 or something else, that this gear is not in my truck?
Now that I actually have...
HOLY SMOKES BATMAN!
I didn't realize on the HML and here that you had a 95 and added a turbo and therefor have pretty much the same setup...and had the same problems! Well you're the man to talk to as it sounds like you had the exact same issue.
I do not have an ESS/camshaft sensor (If I'm...
Needless to say, life has been hectic as we're general contracting our own house, raising a three year old, down to one vehicle, and working a full time gig, whilst in the reserves, whilst getting an exemption...great experience, don't want to do it again! I have been unable to post what's...
checked fluid cold, then running. The level dropped a little bit below the fill line but came back up after about 10 minutes of running.
Unplugged the harness from the transmission and the truck still acted the same as before. In Reverse and in 2nd. Eventually it grabbed onto reverse after...
That's fascinating information I hadn't come across, thank you! Actually, the trans level is reading little high.
Then the next step would be to unplug the trans harness and see if it can go into R and 2nd which rules out other electrical issues?
What would cause a cracked filter seal? I...
Howdy, new here and brought a delightfully head-scratching problem that I'm currently having after an engine swap. Cracked the old 6.5 NA, put in a new 6.5 GEP with a Super 77 Turbo. Worked great for two weeks after being rebuilt and now I'm dead in the water as the truck isn't applying power...
Came over from the HummerNetworkForums (HML) at the suggestion of Will L. due to the Transmission Legend (THEFERMANATOR) that patrols the halls of TTS.
I have a 1995 H1 Hummer 6.5 NA, recently cracked the old block and put in a 6.5 GEP with a Super 77 turbo so now I have a mechanical turbo...
