I am going to drop the tank and clean it out .. as blowing with air is getting tiresome.
any tips/suggestions for a non-mechanic who hasn't done this before?

I'm just relieved to be able to move on to the little things on the truck that need fixing.
-blower motor for heater/ac
-rails for power windows
-wiper circuit board

This last time it happened.. there was a point where the speedo was locked at 60km/hr, the tach also seemed frozen, and she was barely chugging at idle, if that is familiar to anyone.

I am able to idle to 2000rpm, and bring it down slow, but takes a very gentle foot till down near 1600.. then she is very easy to bring down.
