    6.5 Turbo Gasket

I have had several of these trucks and I have worked on them and put back the turbo metal to metal with no problems. My K3500 has a leak that blows carbon and the turbo is not spinning up. I have looked everywhere for a gasket. This is the Turbo Mount Gasket. Any Ideas??

(6/01/09) Now that GM has declared bankruptcy, would you buy another GM vehicle?

There is no energy crisis!!!!!!!!! Hey Gardnerteam Did you ever hear about all the oil in Alaska? We don't need any stupid Obama machine or anything else. We need cheap oil and we have 200 yrs. + available but not a drop through the pipeline has ever made it here. Why? Check it out...

(6/01/09) Now that GM has declared bankruptcy, would you buy another GM vehicle?

I woulld never buy a Ford! After the screwing they gave me in 1987, forget that company. I drove the prettiest piece of garbage that ever came off an assembly line and they did not stand behind it. It almost killed me when the front end fell apart. Tie-rod fell off! The clutch for a F350...

(6/01/09) Now that GM has declared bankruptcy, would you buy another GM vehicle?

Yep, CBREW is right; Our first illegal alien President. The government made a mess back in the 70's with the auto makers having to deal with the unions and now they would not even allow a normal bankruptcy! It had to be approved by OBAMA! This guy is a certifiable jackass. As for GM ---ALL...

    C6500 anybody have one?

Is there anyone here with a C6500? I have a problem that I think is related to the ignition switch. The thing won't start unless I jump the solenoid. Then it has a safety of theft deterrent mechanism that beeps and shuts down the truck after a few seconds. I found a workaround. I set up a stater...

4L80E - Please give me your expert opinion

I got the Jasper. Now I have the trans and the transfer (4th one under warranty) and the rear in this truck, so I guess the drive train is Ok for now. My 98 has been problems since I got it. This lil dump would be gone if it was not a dump. Now I going to fix it up with new seats, grill, paint...

4L80E - Please give me your expert opinion

I am picking up a used tranny as Jaspers are too expensive and after my transfer case fiasco (4 trans cases till it was right), I think a used one will be better. I was able to eliminate my limp mode completely when I unhooked my TPS. Remember, this is the truck with the mechanical IP...

4L80E - Please give me your expert opinion

Limp mode did come back. I pulled the speed sensor from the trans case and it looked good. After researching the P0756, I realized the problem was probably in the case. Every incident of L Mode, I would pull over and most times, I would get 3rd and 4th back. A sensor must be sending info to...

4L80E - Please give me your expert opinion

I checked codes and had P0756 P0717 along with the IP codes because of the conversion. I removed the input sensor in tranny and cleaned it. It loked good so I put it back in. I changed the pan fluid two times and removed my "fooler" and restored the ECM wires and bingo - runs great. Reverse...

4L80E - Please give me your expert opinion

Limp Mode is a protective measure brought on by the ECM to protect the tranny. You will only have 1st and 2nd and be able to limp home. I am not sure as to if I had a true limp mode of if it was something else. I check codes and the only ones were from the Elec. IP missing. I am sure I am...

4L80E - Please give me your expert opinion

1998 K3500 - 4L80E Fluid was light brown. Shifting was ok but lost OD sometimes and a cpl times had limp mode. Reverse had a shudder and slip but works. Changes fluid to the good stuff and filter, etc. Cleaned the sump - fine dust like graphite sludge, like a thin coating over the inside of...

4L80E Wiring DISASTER ---> Need Help

I have a complete P30 van wiring diagnosis book. I am not sure it would help. Does your truck have a standalone TCM?

    PO370 (timing reference)

Ok Chrisk That must mean that is irrelevant as there is no optic sensor, unless ECM compares optic sensor with other input. Thanks Bob

    PO370 (timing reference)

I recently changed my 98 truck to mech. IP.....Runs great! Just ran the codes out of curiosity and the one #PO370 - Timing Reference High has me wondering. I was wondering what sensors are in play with this code. The only codes other than the various elec. IP codes (4 of them) were: Timing...

Another broken crankshaft - I'm gonna cry.

I have to put it up at every filling. I ran codes this morning, and the only codes other than the various elec. IP codes (4 of them) were: Timing Reference High. Coolant temp high. I did break the sensor at the top of the thermostat (hooked it on my belly) but the pins mate back...

Another broken crankshaft - I'm gonna cry.

Marine DB2 hectorwithinjectors He is on EBAY and I purchased it outside of ebay. This thread has me pondering a revisit on my timing. It idles smooth but just not quite. I had to make sure all lines are good and tight and now I can go back and look at the timing. I can put a cup of...
