    6.5 Hard Cold Start

SUCCESS, I got the duraterms in and it fired right up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LK1mWBECUe4 However if you watch the video you'll notice that it chugs for like 3 seconds then stops. Also there was air going through the clear IP return line. But that could be from replacing the IP feed line...

    6.5 Hard Cold Start

Well I finally got the inner fender off and used Leroys tool to get the 4 GP out of the passenger side. If anyone has any swollen GP I would definitely recommend buying Leroys tool. Its worth every penny and is definitely better then trying to remove an injector and get the tip out. Either way...

    6.5 Hard Cold Start

Well I got Leroys tool and it worked great on the drivers side. Turns out the glow plugs I pulled out are actually 11g and not 60g as they were advertised. Oh well. I have another question though. To get at the passenger side GP(all 4 are swollen) will I have to remove the exhaust manifold? I...

    6.5 Hard Cold Start

Ok thanks for everyone's help. I have actually jumped the truck a few times this past winter due to it having weak batteries and me being to cheap to buy new ones. I'm going to order up leroydiesel.com removal tool. looks like my best option. I also ordered 8 new bosch duratherms so hopefully...

    6.5 Hard Cold Start

Well crap, I went to pull the other 6 GP and none of them would come out. 7/8 are to swollen to pull out. I tried turning the engine over with them loose but they didn't pop out. Don't know how 60G got fried like this. They're only 3 months old.

    6.5 Hard Cold Start

Well I think I have found the problem but I am only now more confused and have another problem. I tested for Voltage at all of the wires and everything tests good. Also used one of my old glow plugs and it glowed on every wire. I then tried to remove one of the glow plugs on the driver side and...

    6.5 Hard Cold Start

Figured I would make a video of a cold(kinda cold had been sitting for six hours) start. Also I was pumping the gas during cranking. Here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spNuUH-V2IEhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spNuUH-V2IE also usually when the truck sits overnight or for a few days...

    6.5 Hard Cold Start

Well I went through your list and I'm still having hard starts. I had a friend crank it and I couldn't see any air in the return line. I can't see any leaks on ip. I still don't have a psi gauge for fuel but it does seem to have enough. I have forced a 20-30 sec. glow and it makes no difference...

    6.5 Hard Cold Start

Whats the best way to check that? just visually or what? also if it was drawing in air, I would think that it would have problems running, like stumbling and such. or not?

    6.5 Hard Cold Start

1993 K3500 6.5 TD is a having a hard cold start. It usually takes about 10-20 seconds of cranking for it to fire. So far I have New injectors(standyne), new AC delco 60g glowplugs, new lift pump, new fuel filter, new CDR valve, and a new air filter. Truck has 162K miles. The main problem is that...
