    78/79 Bronco Resto/mod

Been a long time! I forgot about this site! Anyhow, the Bronco is now complete, took just over 3 years to finish. Painted it in my garage, my first full paint job, pretty happy with it and learned a lot!

    Fuel Tank Selector/Fuel Supply Issues

1991 F250 7.3 IDI/ATS Turbo, on my way to work this morning I had a strange issue that has me a bit stumped. I was driving along just fine stopped to grab a quick bite at a drive through and decided to switch fuel tanks because to front take was on about 1/4. It didn't switch, odd. So pulled...

    does anyone run a.....

Pretty much any canvas (boat covers and such) or awning shop will make one custom for you for $75 or so. Mine has a zipper in the middle so I can open it up on warmer days. You will lose some fuel mileage running it FYI.

Stats? Head Gaskets? Fix it / Dump it?

You can do a set of headgaskets and studs in 8-10 hours if you hit it hard. Definitely worth fixing it, the 6.5 with an ATT is awesome.

got a turbo kit today. prototype???

Looks like a Banks setup but the cross over appears to be at the front of the engine, interesing. Did you get another manifold with it? ATS turbos are center mount the Banks mounts over the passenger head.

    Salt Lake to Las Vegas?

Found a good deal on a trailer so I bought it, guess I will be pulling this to Vegas with the Suburban. Shouldn't be too bad, the Bronco weighs about 4000# as it is and the trailer is less than 2000#. Since it is winter I am less worried about the temps, but I will change the coolant and flush...

    1994 chevy 6.5

No reason to be nervous, aligning the clutch is as simple as sticking the tool through the clutch into the output shaft, then bolting on the pressure plate. But you need the tool to do it. I needed one once, I bought a clutch kit, used the tool then returned the clutch kit :) haha

    Salt Lake to Las Vegas?

I need to have my Bronco moved from the Salt Lake City are to Las Vegas where I am moving. I will be moving in December but we should have access to the house in November and I go there for work regularly. I had considered towing it with my Suburban but really don't want to put that much...

    78/79 Bronco Resto/mod

I left the riveted ones on, the rivets were tight and there was no sign of rust behind the brackets when I pulled the bolted ones off. This frame was in excellent shape, the other one I had was pretty bad, all of the brackets on it had rust that was eating into the metal.

    78/79 Bronco Resto/mod

Finally an update! I got the roller nearly complete, I still need to get rear rotors, u bolts and spring plates but it is on all fours!!! The radius arms are really long, now that it has tires on it you can see how long they are.

    Speedometer jumping around

My speedometer is doing something similar. It started by bouncing around like yours but then it started jumping to 85 and down to 0. Now it just doesn't work at all! I never had any issues with my tach, the tach signal comes from the alternator FYI. I am pretty sure that the sensor is to...

    78/79 Bronco Resto/mod

Pretty close to the same weight from the balancing point. A tad over 1100# all together, a good engine hoist is a must, I have 2!

    78/79 Bronco Resto/mod

Holy Damn it is hot! Got the engine/Trans/Transfercase set in the frame today. Set it in one piece, wouldn't want to do that with the body on it! More room than I thought between the yoke and the cross bar for the radius arms

    78/79 Bronco Resto/mod

I had seen a few that were made that way, before I bought the second hoist I was looking around for a couple of good heavy duty engne stands on the cheap but had no luck. I paid $50 for this hoist and it is a 5000# hoist, very stout. Spent the morning on the transmission and transfer case. It...

    78/79 Bronco Resto/mod

Got another hoist this morning and got the body under the patio thing. The two hoists sure make it nice, I can lift the body up high enough that I don't need to lay under it to work on it. Going to work on the undercarriage tomorrow, today was kind of a clean up and organizing day.
