What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

I should clarify that the speaker that was crackling and static sounding when hooked to the DS 2nd door wiring, worked perfectly on the passenger side 2nd door wiring. Wiring tested fine on the multimeter, so my conclusion and that of JBL warrant rep was that a channel was out in the amplifier...

Doesn’t the diesel get far better mileage than the gasser?

    14 bolt Full Floater 3.73

I will pick this read differential up tomorrow. Now I will have two to install. One for the ‘94 is already prepped for install and was ready 10 years ago. Oh well, life interruptus. I have more time in retirement to do this stuff.

    14 bolt Full Floater 3.73

I went to check out this axle. RPO Codes G80 for limited slip and GT4 for 3.73 gear ratio. Truck had 188K miles on it when he bought it from salvage. Parting out wrecks is his side hustle. He had already sold the engine and transmission. I will need to check old threads here on where to buy...

    14 bolt Full Floater 3.73

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1374302991290582/?mibextid=wwXIfr This a 2008 Chevrolet 2500 HD with 6.0 that’s being parted out in Missoula which is close to me. I inquired about the rear axle which should be a 14 bolt Full Floater G80. He checked by VIN# and it’s 3.73 gear ratio...

    Desperately Seeking Smoothness

After breaking a tie rod back on the ‘99 K2500 Suburban back in December 2025 due to over doing the ream job on a GMT-800 brake conversion, I’ve been going tbrough this truck to address vibration at highway speeds (70 to 75 mph). I went through the issue with a bad install on right rear brake...

I ordered off your hated RockAuto, but SKP is Hecho in China anyway. I think you would need the SKP w/o the rear window defogger for the Hummer.

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

I have it, but they have different units depending on whether you have rear window defogger, which the Suburban does. It’s a unit by SKP, so it’s Chinese.

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Arrived at Montana home and had a delivery of a new HVAC control unit for the ‘99 Suburban. Old one stopped working properly. Fan was always on, no matter the position and there was no change in speed. New one installed in minutes and back to working normal.

    CV Axle Seperation

Yeah, the differentials are not designed to move side to side. Those bushings are not designed for side to side movement.
