Yeah it's just dug into a bit of a hill. That way we can dump on top and push down. Less effort that way. The top where we push from is only 6 feet higher, but the sides are probably 12 higher. Wish it was a cement one, but this works ok.
Some pics I got around to taking off my phone. In order:
Silage pit partly full, I was packing the shit out of it.
I was pushing silage with my 8100, I took the old degelman dozer blade and made it fit my 840 loader. The frame wouldn't have fit the tractor easily, and this way you can pick it...
Seems to be. Lots of information about them, and several techs on there. Second site I check after this one.
Well we finished the field we were in and everything else is too wet yet. Hopefully it gets dry in a couple weeks after we do beets. Kinda worried about some of it that was more silage...
Been doing the high moisture corn since yesterday. Normally we let it dry below 15 before we even start so this is different. Got it where it's working pretty good though, and the combine is working nice. It was right around 33 most of the day. Not sure how their conversion works, so I hope...
Man I wish the corn would dry down. The stuff that was planted normal is around 32-38 depending on field. The stuff that we planted when that spring storm killed all our beets is over 40. That later planted stuff is all going to a feedlot that wants high moisture corn. Needs to be between 27-35...
I wish, he loves the 8 row head. Anyway I just found out he bought a 9650 to put that head on. Maybe he won't even need help then. Man this sucks, I bought this combine expecting 300 acres of corn besides ours, and everyone keeps buying combines. I had the biggest combine around when I bought...
Umm I know I want either one. Then I want bigger stuff to pull with it.
They are electronic controlled engines. There is one local guy with a 9400 and he beats on it hard and it seems to still work good for him. He's had to put some parts in it because he's hard on stuff but I expect that.
Eh I like the duals the way they are, they fit 30 inch rows nice and makes it really stable on hills and pivot wheeltracks. I would rather run a bigger head, I've just run out of time this year to do something. It would be pretty easy to build a bigger head from a couple, cheaper than trading...
Hey Phil, I'm going to be doing like you did with the duals and 6 row head. Although I know where another older one is, tempted to buy it and build an 8 or 12. Anyway, rather than use a pin, I blew another hole farther in with the torch so I have 4 latch positions on the ladder. Looks like it...
Yeah that's what the feedlot wants to do. Another guy takes some wetter, he doesn't do anything but feed it so he only takes a few loads that way. That's real nice though, just pull up to his silage pit and dump it.
That sucks phil, been searching machinefinder a lot then? Hope the insurance...
Some guys started on silage here, corn won't be ready to combine for a while. We normally don't do any high moisture, no one here runs driers. Some will do it a little wet, maybe 18, and run the air on the bin, but usually we combine dry. We might be doing some high moisture though because the...
Hey Nick I recall you saying you had some that were gonna be your own part number and valving for cranked trucks. Did you ever get that done. I need a set for mine, front cranked maybe 2 inchs, 2 inch block back.
