Well I pulled the glows and I have no fuel being injected. Cranked with both PMDs, no difference. I know early on I had some fuel because when the injector lines were loosened it got wet around the line. Did not have a chance to check compression.

When all I could smell was WD40 from the initial sprays, I had to try and capture some of the spray from later cranks and get it closer to my nose.

I had someone turning the key when I checked for mist. I pulled the 4 DS glows and held my hand in front of one of the cylinders. I believe I was smelling diesel over the odor of WD40. When I pull all of the glows to test compression I will redo this test. I may even blow the cylinders out one...

To eliminate backtracking in the thread I'm going to restate the problem and what has been done to date. 250 miles into a trip shut the truck off for about 5 minutes. Truck immediately restarted and ran for about 30 seconds before it cut off and would not restart. 2. Year of truck/engine...

According to DieselPro (IP rebuilder) amount of fuel in the return line when cranking means nothing. Fuel contamination - I put the previous 4-5 tanks of fuel in. These were 25-30 gallon fill ups. The last tank of fuel was driven for 250 miles with no issues before the truck cut off and would...

According to Dieselpro, if the key has sheared or partially sheared the IP can still be turning and injecting fuel but be out of time and doing this at the wrong moment. Eliminating this potential issue is what I was talking about checking by pulling the oil fill tube. The first voltage at PMD...

I'm almost to that point. Unfortunately I don't have a spare ECM chip. Have a stock 98 box and a 98 Kojo box but that won't work in a 95. If I had one, I'd have tried it long ago. I need to pull the oil filler tube and check that the IP key hasn't sheared.

As I posted a week ago, glows were tested. All glows were pulled and voltage applied. A couple were tested using the ignition key and factory glow plug wire by removing, grounding and turning key on. All glow plugs are working. After getting the glow plug relay and brake switch codes the codes...

Starter spins fine. Jrsavoie if you can easily find one that would be fine. I don't know if testing with the spare PMD would do any good. All input signals to the PMD are good through the extension cable. Output I"m not sure of. With the spare PMD hooked directly to the IP there is no...

The fast blink may be a flasher module going bad. I think you are on track with the ground on the reverse lights.

Life kinda caught up with me for a little while. Replaced batteries. Cleaned grounds. Truck now has 2/0 pos and neg cables with 4AWG going from battery to fuse box, alternator to both batteries and both batteries to fenders. Checked voltages at original PMD jrsavoire your test extension is...

Not only was there a bunch of water standing where the truck was parked, got 2+ inches of rain over the weekend, mom needed help. Mom gets priority over truck. Got back to it this afternoon. Last Thurs: Installed new ignition switch. Got more smoke but still no start. Following instructions...

I'd feel like I was making progress if I found out I had just had voltage to the PMD.

Got stuck working late and only had time to get the switch swapped, what a PIA. Still need to put the dash together. Didn't have a second person to crank while I sprayed WD. I did crank with no change. I've got to work later tomorrow and I'm headed out of town for the weekend. So I won't be...

I am not certain about these codes 59-57-84-99 I think I may have gotten off on the count. Also I do not know the last time the codes were cleared before I pulled them. System was cleared after pulling. I am certain about the 13-29-31-32-33-41-44-45. I am also still getting the 13 and 40's...

This isn't the top truck in the signature, hadn't updated it yet when you posted. The K3500 with manual trans dumped a head gasket. I'd bought the 2500 w/o title since it had a good cab, fair bed and I needed to do a cab and bed swap. PO said it wouldn't start after he had a craigslist...
