Sorry to hear of the cracked block. They all crack, every cast number, every version. Some less than others. Interesting that the aftermarket blocks are doing it as well. I suspected they would. I've seen GEP/Navistar blocks cracked too. Hence the P400.
This is why any performance engine I mess...
The ATT has a 54mm compressor inducer and has spool characteristics of a T04B turbo.
A Holset fitted with a 60mm 6-blade compressor and wastegated turbine housing will perform way better. The turbo I like is the Hybrid turbo using either an HX35 or WH1C. My personal favorite is a WH1C with...
Glad you're up and running there. Smokey is kinda of fun right?
I think you're up to turbo shopping and building an intercooler to keep IAT's and EGT's in check.
Personally I recommend either a HX-40 Super, or Hybid HX35/40 with 60mm compressor, or S300 series with these specs 62/65/12...
If you have rings "converted" to gapless out of a set, you'll likely be fine as the ring sets are usually right on. If you have buy rings directly from Total Seal then you will have to file-to-fit the rings. This is a very careful process that requires finesse to remove all the sharp edges that...
also possible the wastegate arm is binding. With the truck not running and cool, grab the wastegate arm and move it like it would normally be moved, also see how much rocking play it has, it a lot, it could be binding up in a closed position.
Bad Injection pump harness. Giggle the harness wires as it it's going to the fuel solenoid on the back of the pump. Look inside the connector for the PMD that would connect on the side of the pump, look at the inside of the pins and see if it's possible any of those aren't making contact. This...
Funny to read about the 2 to 1 conversion. I have a 1996 K3500 that was just going to re-pin using the previous male connectors. An adapter harness would be handy.
I'm saving up for the OBDII programming setup. After I get it I'll offer tunes for OBDII for 200 or so bucks.
I believe 1998...
I have an engine the same way. The repair was a proper flexplate. The engine had an aftermarket flexplate on it of unknown brand. It made the starter loud when cranking (teeth noise). Swapping to an OEM flexplate on the engine solved this issue. Fortunately the engine was on a test stand to it...
Yeah, machinist talk .0001 is a tenth, of a thousandth (.001).
Example .0008 is 8 tenths of a thousandth.
Mainly machinists are concentrating on the smallest big number they work with, which is usually in the thousandths (.001)
Hey turbovanman, if you talk the seller again, refer him to this thread. He obviously doesn't realize that without these forums no one would be buying his product. Once it started getting discussed here and on the place his sales sky rocketed on this wheel. For him to dismiss that shows just...
Yeah, none of that guy's offer to make anything right would have been genuine. I got that distinct impression that I would have gotten screwed even more than I already was by buying his POS wheel. I went through this with John Kennedy a couple months ago and it wasn't pretty. I held the short...
Here ya go:
Here is the simple question I posted to him:
Dear turbochargersystems,
So, I've read on the forums following this wheel and discovered that some others are having trouble with the bore size being too small for the shaft. So, I tested the one i received on a spare turbine wheel...
Totally disappointed in the guy that's selling these wheels as turbochargersystems.com.
I just sent a message on Ebay yesterday inquiring about whether there was a sizing issue with the wheels. What I got back was totally unprofessional and I got a world class scolding about how there was...
