The motorhome is back in the shop after our road trip.
The gauges and dash lights wouldn't work when I turned on the headlights. That was a challenge one night when we had to drive during a thunder storm.
We had brake issues one day in stop and go traffic, but it went away after we stopped to...
We are on a road trip. Almost all is going well. (More details later, but nothing I can't overcome)
Interesting though is the fuel milage. The best fill up yielded 11.4mpg and the worst because were stuck in traffic was 9.4mpg.
I got the boost and EGT gauges hooked up to. Max boost is 26the...
In the 700 miles I've driven it, there hasn't been a problem with heat on the cold side. But, because of that thought myself and in case of other issues, I haven't securely fastened the doghouse cover down yet.
Here are some pictures of the project.
Turbo blanket
FFM custom bracket I made to relocate it because of the turbo location. There's a pair, left and right.
Boost sensor bracket on custom upper intake.
Engine bay.
Oil cooler lines and wrapped header.
A header flange I had welded...
Well, I picked it up today. They ate the labor and I paid for the parts.
I see a road trip in the future. We'll see how it goes this time. :nailbiting:
Here was their response:
"We will see you on Monday. I will talk to Pat on the labor. As always ABC wants to have the customer happy in the end. I am sure we will be able to work this out on our end"
Update. They say that the motorhome is ready to pick up today, although I won't have time to do so until Monday.
They say I owe them $1700 for parts and $1900 for labor, of which they will eat half (labor). All for a brake job that I had on my original punch list. (it seems all they did was...
No new news on any repairs yet.
But, I did finally get a chance to see what started this whole repower project. It wasn't a displaced button, it was a broken rocker shaft.
The shop called at the end of the day to tell me that it wasn't ready. They had to order a new pressure switch for the AC. I thought all that was replaced when they replaced everything else on the AC, but new parts can fail too I guess.
The cruise didn't work because they said the brake light...
As far as the PMD, the first one to fail was in the stock location, The second one was a Heath PMD/heat sync kit with 1200 miles on it when it failed, mounted behind the bumper.
The cab AC has everything new, except for the evaporator.
That's the odd part about this project, I figured I'd get...
I'm guessing, I'll just have to keep moving forward. Can't torch it, as I have more into it than what they would pay out. Besides, when a firefighter has a fire, they really look into it and I don't need those troubles too. (I know you were just kidding)
I got a message that they have it fixed...
I'm beginning to think my motorhome is jinxed or cursed in some way.
On the way home to MN from buying it in Reno in 2011, we had to stop in the middle of the night and switch out the PMD
Camping in 2011 went well. I even used it as my camper at a wildfire for 3 weeks in Oct where I was the...
Here's the latest.
I got a call yesterday afternoon from the tech. He said they got the shifting issue fixed. They found a bad wire. I'm wondering if it was one of the wires that were too close to the exhaust that got the covering melted? They said I could take it for the weekend, but we were...
The last info I heard this afternoon was that they were in contact with the transmission people. The consensus between the two at this point is to switch out the shift solenoid to cure the shifting problem.
I'm not totally on board with that fix though and actually I don't think it will be the...
