Welcome to the forum. Make sure to get a working lift pump on there very soon. Preferably before you crank it up again. Do you have a fuel pressure Guage? How do you know it’s not working? Having a non working lift pump means that the injection pump has to suck fuel all the way up by itself and...

One of my 56 trucks is set up just like that. I love the looks of them trucks. It has a divorced transfer case under it. I wish mine had the winch that was available back in 56. That would be cool

    Glow Plug Question

This one don’t have starting problems either. I have never really had to mess around with glow plugs in the past so I didn’t know if all other trucks glow plugs with 16 thousand miles or so on them look like that. I didn’t know if you can tell by the plugs if the timing needs to be messed with...

    Glow Plug Question

The truck has never had a problem starting and it’s never been plugged in. Since I had them out I wanted to post the picture and get y’alls opinion on them. I have never had a reason to check them until now since they are already out. I’ll OHM them and see what it comes up with.

    Glow Plug Question

After changing out the valve covers and putting everything back together I’m ready to bleed the air out of the lines so I pulled the 7 easiest glow plugs. These have about 16 thousand miles on them. Do they look good for that amount of mileage? And do they look good enough to keep running them...

Valve Cover gasket(or no gasket) on 6.5

Been doing my valve covers over the past two weekends. “The Right Stuff” or “Ultra Black” is the only way to go on valve covers but if you have to remove them you might as well buy new ones. I learned that the hard way. Cork gaskets are pretty much a guaranteed leak. I like “Ultra Black“...

    Our New house

Most of the time if a brass valve leaks it’s because it was tightened to much. The brass will stretch when the threads on the pipe ain’t cut deep enough. And @Stoney, brass 1/4 turn pull port ball valves are probably cheaper than gas cocks. Get some prices from a few plumbing/HVAC supply houses...

    Our New house

On the gas pressure test. Make sure you have a valve and a union at every appliance and a drip leg somewhere in the line. Go to home depot and get the 15$ gas pressure test gauge. Its going to be 3/4" female threads. Put it outside as close to where the meter is going to be as possible. The...

    Crank no start

This is about all I could come up with when it comes to the ground locations. There is no diagram in the manuals showing locations that I could find

    Crank no start

Maybe someone on here can post a picture of the grounds at the back of the passenger side head. It'll be dark when I get home. The negative battery cables should connect to the engine up front. Ill try and remember to look in the 95 motorhome service manual and post some pictures of the chassis...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

In the process of putting on new valve covers. They leaked bad from reusing the old ones. Lesson learned. Just buy new valve covers and don’t bother trying to reuse the old ones. Also took the exhaust gaskets out and bolted the manifolds straight to the block. Got the new valve covers on over...

    Crank no start

Take apart and clean all the grounds. There are several grounds on the back passenger side head. One on both sides of the engine up front and probably one attached to the fender or somewhere to the body like on a truck. Check The connections at the pmd again since you changed it. If it has the...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

What I’ve done before to make the injector return hose stop leaking until the new ones came in was I cut about 1/2 inch off of the side that was leaking. They normally split open where it goes over the nipple.

Low heat and air circulation problems

For the past year or so when I go to cut the air condition or heat on it takes a minute for the air to come out of whatever vents the knob is on. The fan speed has always worked as it should but sometimes when I cut the fan on I can here the fan in the dash running but the airs not coming out of...
