I just got thinking about it when I was looking at Rock Auto and autometer sells stainless braided fuel lines. I'm pretty sure my local hose supply can make up the lines in whatever length I need.
I’ve done ball joints on these trucks before. Yeah it was a bit of work but the only real hard part was getting the new lowers pressed in. It looks like this truck has bolt in replacements.
Thanks, it looks like the OP was trying to source complete control arms. I only need ball joints.
That's fair. I've dealt with this shop for more than thirty years and they’ve always been good about diagnosing and me doing the work. I've always been happy with their alignments.
My tire shop just told me that my ball joints are done. I just checked Rock Auto for parts, and it looks like there are several options: bolt-in or press-in and different sizes. The control arms are stock, as far as I know.
Does anyone know what I need? I prefer to get the parts before taking...
The thing that puzzles me about the air is that I never have an issue after the first couple of minutes. I can drive for hours with no issue but then I stop the truck and turn it off for even a few minutes and the stalling reoccurs.
Soooo… the problem is not solved at all. Did it to me four times today. I fire the truck up without any problem then about thirty seconds later it dies. Then I have to really crank it and pump the accelerator to get it started. So one time when it happened today I had my son in law watch the...
Update!
I haven't had any random stalling since I posted. However, I did put in a clear fuel line and haven't seen any air. The big thing I did while looking for a sale on a fuel pressure gauge was buy and install the Zombie Solutions (Bruce) battery cable set. In the process, I discovered one...
I'm just revisiting the fuel gauge. I'm looking at an auto meter, but should I get a 15psi or a 30psi? I don't know what the maximum pressure could be.
I put in a clear fuel line where and as suggested. I haven't had any stalling issues since I posted, but today, I hit the acceleration hard, and the truck stumbled a bit. When I stopped, I checked the fuel line, and sure enough, there was a big air bubble in it. So it appears that air is getting...
Thanks everyone for the ideas.
I'll check all the grounds again the next chance I get. If anyone has any suggestions, I may also consider doing a battery cable upgrade.
Then, I’ll pick up a fuel pressure testing kit and see if there are fuel issues. Then, if nothing else helps, I’ll look at the...
My wife is going to love that I'm buying more tools. :)
I have a reader that replicates the paper clip, and I count flashes. I have never heard of the GMTDScan, but it looks like a brilliant option.
