Originally I had it mounted on a bolt that was to the side and in front of the washer fluid tank. It was where the bumper curved around. If you pull the front of the drivers side fender line aside and look straight toward the bumper you'll see it. I was able to move one of the other ballast...
I'll try that James. I'm just about 100% sure it is my fogs that are causing it. Tonight I turned on just the fog lights and had horrible static. With the low beams on I had no problem. Looks like I'll have to find a better place to mount the ballast while I install something else on the truck...
Yeah I'd rather not do that. I REALLY like them. One thing I heard was to remount the ballast to something other then metal. Maybe do like you did and find a place to zip tie them to.
I don't believe they do. I'm not sure why the grounds would have anything to do with it. I didn't have the problem before the install. It's all plug and play into the factory harness but I will check them out.
I put 3 new sets of HIDs in my truck the other night and ever since then when they are on I've noticed that I'm picking up alot more static over my radio then I did before. It doesn't do it during the days when the lights are off, only at night. They are all local channels that always came in...
Has anyone had problems with the VVME HID fog lights? I went to install them tonight and it's like they forgot to put the the female end on to the wires that plug into the light bulb. The wires have the metal crimp ends on them though. Hopefully I can get the connectors I need at the auto parts...
That's what I thought but wanted to make sure. I wonder how difficult it is to pop the factory wires out of the plug and switch them? That would be better then cutting and splicing.
Also on the vvme kits which 2 wires do I need to switch for the lights to come on correctly? I've heard with some that you have to do that because the polarity is reversed on the GMs. I think I know which ones they are but want to double check before cutting up my new lights.
I'll get right on that):h
So I guess I'll either have to park the truck outside during the day so I won't have to worry about the lights coming on then. I'd rather not pull that fuse as I like having the lights do their thing automatically.
I received 3 sets of 5K HIDs to put in my truck and I have a questions. I, like many, park my truck in the garage at night. What can I do besides pulling the auto headlight fuse to keep the headlights from coming on when I start my truck in the garage? I know that's hard on ballasts and I don't...
Looking at the VVME.com site trying to find which sets to get for the fog hi and low beams. I'd like to make sure that I have the right one's selected before I go and order. Only other questions is 55w or 35w and 4300K, 5000k or 6000k?
Fogs...
