When I put the 4.56's in (4 years ago) it was $250 for a ring and pinion. I did the rear end and installed the grizzly locker and had the front done at a shop. Parts and labor for them was just over $600. Most of us luck out and find a good deal on a turbo, gears are something to consider as...
Glad to see they are taking care of you and fast. I keep checking up on this thread waiting to hear the rattle of that purdy motor in the Ho. I'm sure your chomping at the bit to get this wrapped up.
I know everyone loves photo/video better than words so I thought I would upload a small clip of what my fuel pressure looks like at idle and off a light with the stock LP and FTB installed. I barely get into it near the end (about half throttle) and you can see how fast the pressure drops, Also...
Drive pressure is not something I have been monitoring, I'm kinda running out of room in the cab for all the gauges I have :D. The holset I had on before hat the 14cm housing. Not sure of any other sizing. Truck is still running great, waiting to finish this tank to get some fuel mileage...
Its always fun to work on the rig and even better when I have help and Paul's expertise. I'm looking at LP upgrade options right now and once I scrounge up a couple bucks ill be putting a new one in.
I still have plans to try a boosted 0-60 with the ATT to see how the times measure up against...
In this instance I wish it showed below 0, I am afraid it could be going to vacuum. The gauge only reads 0-15 and on WOT it pulls the needle down flat against the 0 rest pin.
I had the ECM reflashed by Heath to support my HX-35 about 2 years ago, Paul called it the smoker tune and the ATT...
More than I ever expected. There is hardly any drone now, Driving it is such a joy. My girlfriend and toughest critic actually likes to ride in it now. The new injectors cut out a lot of cold start clatter as well. I wasn't expecting such a difference with this swap.
From my knowledge it is the stock LP, or stock replacement. I will be looking at other options when funds become available, as it was with my old hx I had a slight haze at WOT so I am assuming my tune is supplying adequate fuel, I just need better pressure to ensure IP life.
I finished connecting up my long ago present from Paul, a 0-15 PSI auto meter fuel pressure gauge. It has a multi-color display for low-normal-high fuel pressure warning. When I turn the key to prime I receive 6 1/2 PSI to the IP. (plumbed sender unit between FFM and IP). once the LP stops...
That is what I am currently working on. Plan to fill up on the way home from work and run a full tank. With the HX on the truck I was seeing 13.8-15 around town. ( i have a somewhat heavy foot). Only freeway run I documented was hauling 2500 pounds of sod in the bed from salt lake to price UT...
Here is a 0-95 ish run I did with the ATT yesterday. I will try to get a boosted 0-60 with the ATT soon to measure up against my HX video. What impresses me the most about this turbo is the top end especially from 60 on.
Haha yeah I get a lot of love it or hate it comments about them. I did the neon green plastidip for winter to help protect the chrome from road salt and chemicals. Only reason I went with green was because it was free. At the least its a head turner haha.
As for the ATT swap I love it. Granted...
With the adjuster coming out of the pot on my HX I was able to adjust it to run anywhere from 10+ PSI and WOT. Currently runnnint about 18 PSI. Im sure it can be adjusted to go lower as well to work with your boost controller. At least its a starting point.
Im running the dual Flex-a-lite and love it. I felt a noticeable power increase with the old fan off and during the summer here the truck stays nice and cool . I have also had good luck towing with the fans too, but I don't tow as much as a lot of the members here.
Im running 35'' tires and 4.56 gears. Around town I get 14-16 (I'm heavy on the throttle :D) the freeway isn't much better. I have 100k on the injectors and a set sitting in the garage, hoping to regain some mileage with them, and will be testing out an ATT on my truck in place of the Holset...
I just read up on the hoodliner and they say its a multiple application product for other areas in the engine bay as well as the hood. Might not be a bad option for your firewall.
Yes I did the inner firewall only. If I ever pulled the motor I might look at doing the Dynomat hood stuff on the firewall since it seems to be able to deal with the heat. If I recall it isn't too expensive either.
