I dont. I was thinking of that spot but the pulley is smooth not grooved and the belt just skims it. Not properly wrapped around the pulley like I would need.
I was considering a second pulley on the crank and running a second belt out front.
Anyone have suggestions on a place in the serpentine setup to mount a pump while KEEPING the AC compressor? I have a project planned and need pressure....
Mine is a custom hydraulic motor driving a proper 24" fan from its own pump and leaves me to put the rad in wherever orientation I want. The fan is no longer linked to the engine. And fan speed is no longer tied to engine speed. Or radiator airflow temps either. And its reversible to blow the...
Got an email in to them. Waiting. I too despise the body lift. I hope to lay my rad even further back with my HFD to allow the intercooler pipes to clear the top of the rad. I dodged the lift kit again.
Im starting to gather parts for my intercooler build and need the pair of intake runners and bridge manifold between the two for chopping chsnging and welding back together. If anyone had a Teds hummer takeout or dead van they swapped into a pickup and these were going spare let me know.
Cheers...
Nice. I put new bolts on to be sure. My knurling was a bit smoothed down. Mine makes an almighty screech if i keep it engaged a part second after the truck starts. Like an old friend used to say "ahh, that just means its working".
Ive done clean starts at 4 deg below freezing after sitting all...
I was re-reading this and saw the hummer/van intakes swapped backwards. Does this cause any clearance problems with the IP?
I had been thinking of doing this when I fit my intercooler so I have a little more space for interrupting the post turbo plumbing. Plus it puts the engine intake closer...
Did you pull the crank sensor out? I unbolted mine tthe other day and it hits the steering box before its free. I only gave it 30sec before putting it back in to get on with my starter project. Does the steering box actually need to move to get it out?
Mine was a bit odd. My tag on the stud out the back tore off leaving me wondering which one was the neg terminal. The instructions said ground to the block but I still had this orpaned tag suggesting it should go to the starter...I was just being over cautious. Its a 500 Dollar CAD starter and...
I put mine in on the weekend. H- cow it works good. You will feel scared something is wrong as the engine just fires after a .5 second howl/screech of the starter.
Thats funny. And I've fallen into the catagory myself....recently.
Is it a direct crank to radiator fan drive or a hydraulic cooling fan drive?
It could be excellent value for a Hummer engine swap.
Ive had a series of dud reman hydroboost units. They were more than soft - just plain nonexistant in braking power. Both feet on the pedal and it would still not really stop. I agree you may have more than hydroboost issues.
Just jury rigged a 12v compressor with the intake side supplying vacumme to the wastegate system. Its a piston pump that makes high 20's hg.
Success! Turbo whistles. 1-3 psi at cruise and 10 at full throttle !
Thanks everyone. I'd still be messing with solenoids without your help.
Now - any...
My truck has had the vac pump deleted snd a manual wastegate added. Im working backwards putting the vac upwrated waste gate back on - and in full disclosure.....sorry...Im using an electric vacumme pump. Its only achieving 14hg of vac and it builds slowly. Im guessing its just not up to task.
I put in a new solenoid and went for a spin. Still no boost.....
I checked the plug to the solenoid and it has 13 + volts to it at Idle ( this should mean solenoid open and vacuum supplied to the wastegate diagram = wastegate closed and turbo active)
The solenoid checks out on the bench with...
