Fan shroud is cleverly done by a cnc plasma table. My buddy cuts all the lines and leaves a small tab. No head for a brake to make bends. Just use vice grips and weld it after.
No plan yet. See how hot it gets....
I'm open to thoughts. The donor dodge had no shielding. Hummer has aluminized fiberglass sheild all over the cab portions that share the engine bay.
Alternators- find a shop that rebuilds. They can swap pulleys, add tach outputs, whatever you need. Online...
And a last min upgrade....
12" rotors with brembo 4 piston calipers.
May be available as a diy kit in the near future if I like it.....affordable to when compared to 6-9k H1 brake upgrades that are out there.
Final belt routing and layout. Might be good for Chevy-cummins swaps as well. The shop I'm at is looking at possibly templating the tensioner and alt/ac brackets for production. They do lots of Cummins-Ford swaps.
I'm sure an intercooler would fit. It's the top of the cummins that's just too close. A stock TD 6.5 hummer has a factory 1/2" lift and the intake only just clears the base of the windshield.
If you keep the same driveline position as the 6.5 the cummins is just a bit taller and needs just a...
Just topping up with a transfer pump from the aux. A good idea.
The parallel selector valves would pull and return to only one tank at a time. Just twice the available flow rate of a single. But it does sound fiddley with a bungle of hoses and "Y" fittings. Problematic.
And the fuel tank is getting spaced down. The driveshaft only barely cleared the fuel tank stock. One inch lift has it running right on the sheild bolted to the side of the tank. To lengthen the upper tank straps I need to drop the tank out. I'm looking tomorrow at possibly twinning the tanks...
Turbo plumbing taking shape. I'm headed behind the cylinder head to the water/air intercooler which will be about where the stock fuel filter is usually.
I'm replacing the mechanical fuel pump and filter with an airdog unit. It's getting tricky as I now need a 1/2" supply line from the tank ...
