    New 6.5 owner and member!

97.5 In retrospect the enclosed area is dry and secure so it really was a more practical choice for me. Its a daily driver with a full load of tools. It takes a while to get them up to scratch but then they're great.

That was my first pick but I shoped over a year and could not find a descent one. Ended up with a white wagon body. Im jealous. It looks in great shape.

    Thermocouple accuracy

Analog guages usually have a resistor inline behind the face to fine tune the guage. You could go up or down in value to correct a wayward guage. They are quite crude overall and just a "guage" of whats happening (haha) My needle is connected to a rubber shaft. As the electro magnet gets more...

Ive got a K series thermocouple that outputs from 0 - 3v and I have it wired to a voltmeter on my dash. It seems pretty linear. The factory graph with it is a straight line from 0- 1800 degrees. How about repainting the dash guage to calibrate it LOL. unless its digital of course. I was...

Proper way to check balance rates

Im running the Torque app for Android. Great display with infinite layouts and warnings (high/low). But very little info out there for setting up custom PID's. I'd love* love *love* to set up fuel rate or injection rate for my 6.5 DS4 but can't find it. Anyone have more experience with this...

Help. Dead at roadside. 20Amp lift pump ecm fuse blows

Im not that guy. I replace skill with zen like plodding along patience. Enough time invested will eventually get you there too. Same way you can become a millionaire working at Macdonalds - by working a million hours.

Help. Dead at roadside. 20Amp lift pump ecm fuse blows

Ive was warned years ago yhat if you became good at electrical issues as a mechanic - keep it quiet. Or else thats all you'll do the rest of your days exclusively.

    Why a 6.5?

I hit 435000 kms (271 000 miles ) on my K2500 and it had some heads rebuilt at 270 000 k's. It was worked hard most of that but got regular oil changes. I sold it last year and still see they new owner bombing around in it. It was a 96 TD. A better built engine could easily surpass that I'm sure.

    Why a 6.5?

A new base model 3/4 ton 4x4 is 50k here. If you sign the papers and circle the lot its now worth 40k. In 5 years it has a used value of 18,000 Im happy to spend money on repairs and even catch the odd $2000 major repair on a 20yr old truck. I could never find enough wrong with it to spend the...

Wicked wheel 2. Its been a few years. Any reports?

I searched the threads for info on the 6.5 Wicked wheel (now in v2). Not too much in the last couple of years. What were the results on a stock engine? Or is it billet snake oil? Im driving a centermount turbo on my hummer and its the claim of lowering EGT's that catches my attention. Im a max...
