I just want to be able to tow a trailer up to 15K lb. and not worry about it. I will be running stock turbo, injectors and planning on an EFI live tune of less than 100 hp.
Whadayathink??
So further review of TC's and I am now thinking:
Sun Coast GM Allison 1056 Torque Converter
Sun Coast Allison Pressure Regulator shim and tool 2001-2010
Sun Coast GM Allison Boost Modifier Valve 2004.5-2010
GM/Allison Torque Converter Bolts
GM Allison Tech Manual 2001-2010
Do I need to...
Therm, I know I should go in it and if I do that why don't I just install a Stg V kit and then be done with it for a while. As most guys it is all about the money. Not an inexpensive job. And I will have to get a trans jack also. I will look at some of the alternative TC options.
Since I am keeping the tune under 100 hp and have a TransGo Jr installed I can probably get away with a new Triple disc TQ? I was thinking of the PPE 1800 stall one. Comments and suggestions are appreciated.
When towing my Travel trailer last weekend I noticed that going up hills on I-85 that the trans would slip. It did not throw any codes. When it started to slip I would immediately back off the throttle and reengage and sometimes it would hold and sometimes it would break loose again. I am...
The locks are all replaced on the outside storage doors. I also had some loose seals and used some 3M weatherstrip and reglued them in. The caulk around the the outside looks like bird droppings in places. Mineral spirits and a rag is cleaning it up well.
Here is a pic of one of the door...
I have been really working on the trailer and finding out that a lot of stuff that i need is not carried at the RV stores locally.
I have been caught up in the dreaded "571" Key debacle. I have replaced all the outside storage doors that have key locks with barrel key lock from ILH. Now i...
You got that right Mike!! I need to get some loose ends tied off so I can work on the Trailer. I have a race in North Carolina in three weeks and we are taking it.
Things I have noticed already:
the 571 key debacle for the storage compartment doors.
Some storage doors are to small (pics to follow)
Slides need the protective awnings
Windows need awnings
rear steps are to spongy
carpet in by the rear slide needs to be replaced. (pics to follow)

Well, here are the first Pics.
This is in Chanute, KS as we are leaving the dealer with the first hook up of this trailer to the "Truck"
The next two are in the Home driveway and it actually fit.
Picked up the trailer on Tuesday morning. We left the Kansas RV in Chanute, KS at 11 am. We got to Sikeston, MO by 6 pm. The trailer pulls great with the Equal-i-zer 4 point sway hitch. The old LBZ was in it's zone just growling along at 70-75 mph on cruise. Went to Lamberts Cafe for supper...
Long trip yesterday. We left Powder Springs, GA at 6am and rolled into Iola, KS at about 8:30pm local time. We will be at the Rv center at 8am to get the Trailer.
Now that is a tip I hadn't read about, I am sure there are more but, Thanks for the insight on the slides. I figure anything that moves requires extra effort.
It may have the debris awnings over the slides, I am not sure but with everything I have read I will be getting them if it doesn't have them. When we do the walk through before acceptance I will be looking at the slide seals closely. I will also be getting up under the frame and preserving it...
Thanks Therm, I have a light duty 3.5kw generator that can spike to 4.5K for starts. Not a Honda so I will be looking for one. I better take my pancake compressor with me and the generator. I don't know if it has an inverter or a battery installed and will find out Tuesday. I have a a...
Thanks for asking Mike. Yes, I am having an equalizer hitch with sway control installed before we start back. The brand is Equilizer, I have a Prodigy brake controller and am not new to towing but each rig is different and yes caution is the word to abide by. I also have a rear sway bar on my...
