I will check it today when I go out and get it up to temp. I had a feeling that bumping the pressure would increase the temp a bit. I was thinking also of getting a PPE oversized Trans cooler and divorcing the trans from the radiator completely. That will allow the radiator to have a bit more...
Just a short update on the Allison. I had to knock on wood. It is really working great. Trans fluid temp is running about 20*F higher when I have the edge on a high tune but I am running a Dex III fluid and I can't wait to afford an EFI live as I think that will lower the temp.
Yes, I was concerned about that. What other options does that leave me with the exception of becoming a master tuner and going to school and spending thousands of dollars
I feel the TC major. I don't notice any change in the Allison as I did the TransGo Jr back in 2010. You cam really feel the TC when you get on it. My stock Allison was in perfect condition when I disassembled it to install the Alligator Stg V Kit. I did install the pump pressure boost shim...
What can I say Ferm "You Da Man" and I am not being facetious. I remember those days when I could do that. Now if I spend 4 hrs on my back under the truck working it takes me a couple of days to recover. I am not complaining that is just the way it is and I deal with it. I was really...
some guys it only takes 3 days to do the transmission me it took 3 months but it works I guess I can't complain and I am getting a little senior so I'm very happy with the results
OK, tranny is built, Alligator Stg V with SunCoast 1056 TC. Now to move on to EFI Live. If i had it to do over with what I have learned to date I would have taken Stacks's recommendation and started wth EFI and not have gotten the Edge.
Today I finished putting everything else back on the truck and I didn't have any parts left over. I added 4 more qts of ATF for a total of 22 qts and the level is fine. I took it out and using my Edge tuner put the transmission in the relearn mode which I understand takes the programming back...
