Engine cooling temps are good but I am now towing a 14K lb 5th wheel camper and having some issues with EGT's. I have sanother thread on the LBZ forum here explaining what i am doing. Title is Mods to improve towing or something like that.
Got started yesterday on tearing down the Duramax LBZ I've only got 145000 miles on it but the hard part was the up pipes those bolts whether they get rusted or just whatever are really a rascal to get off. But we got them off and got the downpipe off and remove the muffler upfront it's actually...
Next week I am installing oversized exh manifolds, up pipes, Y bridge assembly and a Stealth 64 turbo from Duramax tuner for better reliability while towing my 14K lb 5th wheel camper. I will add to this thread as I proceed.
Wow, sounds great I hope you're enjoying your 013 LML. My son just got a brand new 2020 2500 HD with the Duramax and the 10-speed Allison and it is really really nice. I guess I'll be having my 07 LBZ after I finish doing the turbo, up pipes, manifolds, and Y Bridge eliminating the EGR...
Wow, the price of g plugs has really gone up. I replaced mine with 61gs a couple of years ago. About 120K mi. I have had 6.2 and 6.5 motors and have never had a plug break off but have lived caution with all the horror stories I have read about. I would try and stay with factory OEM if possible...
Then let it ride and go spend your money on something else unless you just have to much money and want to squander it or send it to me. Hehehe!!
Is your lines leaking or weeping? As long as you have had your truck and the miles you have put on it, it really looks good. And you don't want to rush into anything you don't have to. Hehehe!!
Even the engine coolant temp stays under 200*F on the insight and after I top the grade the temps fall back to 190ish. We are ready to travel this summer and do some rv camping. I even spent a bit of money on some bling for the truck. I got a set of front parking/turn signal LED lights. I...
Fixed the cooling problem and now even when towing a 10K lb travel trailer the trans temp is usually 10-15*F under ambient. Very happy with the trans kit, SunCoast converter.
Yesterday we took off for a week in the North GBeorgia mountains. Some would call them foot hills. Anyway no problems at all with the truck towing about 11K lbs. of camper.:D
Cooling is really great now and wish I had figured the cooling stack cleaning a year ago. But, as they say , better late than never.
Thanks to all who provided input!!
I did not move the a/c condenser or the trans cooler. I did remove both inner fender wells (that was a big help removing the lower hoses on the passenger side. I also replaced the water pump and needed the drivers side removed also. Be careful moving the e/c cond out of the way and not bending...
