What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

That kink can make the engine shut off on its own, and can ease the flow of bubbles you would normally see. Gotta redo it bud.

    Rebuild about done

When you said “The guy said that they do lots of gapless rings and every once in a while they have compression issues.” I almost lost my mind. They are not doing something right. When there is issues in a beater engine shops recommend the added expense of gapless as a fix! It is highly...

    97 hard start suddenly

Everyone has their breaking point in the 6.5 world. I had to take a break away for some years then must have hit my head because I got back into it. Haha. Please do a favor to the next guy down the road and make your 6.5 stuff available to buy rather than scrap weight when you do move on...

Is the truck trying to say his tune isn’t secure? Maybe Bill says “with my tune you need to secure your seatbelt.” Haha.

    97 hard start suddenly

Yes, I am aware of what the original unit is and how it works in vans ve trucks, vs older 6.2 trucks, etc. my point is the amount of water the filter can stop is exceeded by time the water triggers the alarm. The biofuel is worse for the issue. Original diesel fuel never had algae issues but...

    Project "Johnny Cash"

@Rockabillyrat I know you been working on everything else under the sun, including my db2. But has there been any progress on your toy here? Care to share details of your turbo, ip, etc or nothing on that yet? Maybe add this thread link and engine build link into your signature line? I...

Remember guys- he has a van not pickup. Roy- it would really help if you ad the rig to your signature line and all modifications. Then you won’t get “lift the bed” or such suggestions. The vans don’t have the ffm on the intake like pickups. They have a center mounted turbo there and a...

    FFM fuel heater

I know there is a fuel heater in there. I don’t think I ever had to test one, let alone replace one. Something about the coldest of winter day in the high 20’s making news for a week and old guys saying “I remember the day of the great freeze where we hit an incredible 27°…” You get extra...

    My 2005 Yukon XL

How do you not have oxy/acc where you live man?! Thats cruel and unusual punishment you are inflicting upon yourself. Keep an eye on Craigslist, facebook, wherever is around you.

    New and random stalling issue

It’s when there is enough air collected at the moment. A small amount can mess with the optic sensor. More is simply interrupting the hydraulic pumping of the fuel, or some air getting pushed to the injectors. Annoying as all get out. I never want to fire the parts cannon without diagnosing...

@dbrannon79 glad you got it- just reading all this. Those lil plastic parts always scare me. Yeah that rod is a junker now. The freeplay doesn’t really hurt anything it just drives the oilmpump. The argument can be made that the freeplay will cause chatter to the oil pump gears, so maybe...

    97 hard start suddenly

I would still suspect occasional air intrusion from the ffm. Remember the clear line is the primary test that stanadyne wrote for us to do when I was working at the dealership. The clear we used to use was pvc based and only lasted a few years but now you can buy from https://fuel-line.com/...

    New and random stalling issue

The air is your answer. But not knowing if it had fuel pressure when that happened means you don’t know if it was sucking air or making it in the ip. You can have one of three things. Sucking air from hole in the line before the lift pump. Flap inside fuel line somewhere wether rubber in...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Yes the advance works by limiting the outgoing fuel- which raises pressure inside. The increased pressure forces the advance.

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Guessing Steel Soldiers would be a good starting point. Your 12v parts would go onto the military ones that are 24v. But make sure you get one with a TPS. There is a list here iirc which ip delivers what fuel amount. If not, just search the web for it. Have the list ready before you start...

    Power Steering Pump Hose Routing

It is not just about all the Chinese stuff now. For decades, rebuilt ds4, rebuilt power steering pumps and boxes, rebuilt alternators, rebuilt a/c compressors, all tend to suck. If you are taking a good working db2 or injectors and have it gone through by someone who knows what they are...

    Power Steering Pump Hose Routing

The general rule with parts: Lifetime warranty on new parts means it is a really high quality. Lifetime warranty on rebuilt parts means you will be replacing it often.

    Zombie Solutions lift pump

I get it. I am afraid to find out how many things I won’t remember when mine goes back together.

That sounds like one advanced, and if it’s dealing with descent blow by that gets worse on the noise
