    Air in Fuel Injection

That is not air in the system. That is fuel draining out of the line.

    Air in Fuel Injection

On those little hoses: the good realmones with good clamps that are annoyingly hard to get on/off work well. The cheap hoses fail often. The weak clamps are worse than useless. Unless you are auditioning for the tole of hulk and need something to make you angry. My favorite hose is bought at...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Seems like already too advanced so when cold advance kicks in, its WAY to advanced. Wether thats just ip, inside the ip, if he advanced the cam & ip, whatever. You have it going ok with the couple glow times- just run that. The engine sounds tired, and DeeJaaa hopped it up a little so idk if I...

    Air in Fuel Injection

Yes just like described pinch the hose. I’m shooting from the hip on pinching it off, never tried this before. It shouldn’t drain. I’m thinking pinching it and which ever side drains should have the leak. My normally process is what I described before- throw in clear and chase that way.

Turbo Thread links - aka choosing a turbo

On the van/hummer/hmmwv intake: Did he flow bench it to correct the bad cylinder? I can’t remember which it is off hand but one flows horribly less than the others. The center piece he made looks nice. Normally I would agree with Rockabillyrat on the size- but the center section is insanely...

    Air in Fuel Injection

Possibly the return line is leaking. The return line is supposed to be sealed all the way into the tank and submerged at all times in the fuel. This traps fuel in the return line all the time. If the line has a leak, the fuel can drain out (into the tank sometimes not necessarily on the...

    Air in Fuel Injection

So GM says a quick check on the accessible connections then remove and reinstall the fuel filter. Retest. Still air- then replace the line from ffm to ip with clear. Both lines with bubbles means testing ffm and rearward. If no bubbles between ffm & ip, but you have bubbles at the ip- the...

Not ours obviously but shows a turbo header properly made vs manifold not proper:

Turbo Thread links - aka choosing a turbo

I know barely anything on turbos. On my race truck there was a guy who understood them insanely well. He worked with Gale Banks way back and they learned them together. So I learned a couple things drom him but he was like Gale in that he shared enough so you knew he knew his stuff, then gave...

    97 hard start suddenly

No. Once the insulation is gone- let it go. Electric burns and or electrocution is not worth it.

Turbo Thread links - aka choosing a turbo

Yes, the divided housing is too cause a faster spool but the division causes a little loss on top end. Help one area and it hurts another. No free lunches. There are types of a QSV that blocks one side of the twin scroll to get the similar effect. The progression from there is to a variable...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Be patient and remember if you have to hire a younger mobile mechanic it is cheaper than a head swap. The knowledge of how to win a fight is still in Chuck Norris’ head. His body being able to follow instructions is the issue. Same thing with you and I spinning a wrench- not what we were and...

Turbo Thread links - aka choosing a turbo

Yeah, if you notice in the video the 250hp kit is a cac with adapters to match the intake manifold, different db2 ip (I believe pushing 90cc), different injectors (most likely higher pop pressure and less restrictive cdr. The 300hp kit has all that plus the turbo. I’m guessing that db2 is...

Soon as I pull my foot from my mouth, I will suggest adding a link to that truck in sig line noting it’s DeeJaaa ‘s old one. Knowing the history tends to add more questions than help. My best suggestion is use this thread for the fun pictures on occasion and do a dedicated thread for...

Sorry, I meant head flow opinion to the mix on this thread. Jumping ahead of myself about the turbo thread I recently opened

    Head flow info

I agree you never want bigger chambers than required, but cleaning up ports and improving velocity is a definite help. Before I gave up on the pmd chaos, i was doing moderate port jobs and running gm8. I can’t remember actual stats anymore but it was a measurable improvement. Now, I learned the...

Whoa- wait a minute…post the link(s) of known damage/ issues that occurred. Reading that can clue us into better diagnostics, hints, patches. I’m like… oh yeah dr., did I forget to mention triple bypass and liver transplant I had done two years ago? Haha. Kinda big info here…
