Muriatic acid took the black brake dust off of My aluminum wheels.
I did that in about three steps.
Acid, let it smoke a while then rinse. Let it dry a little then another shot of acid. About thrice of that and there is no more dirt, grime or brake dust.
For some reason the little screws for the WIF sensor are not with the housing.
Maybe I needed them to install a new WIF sensor onto the FTB unit.
I think the heater and sensor are in good working order but You might want to check them out.
I never had a problem with leaks from this unit. I just wanted to spend some money for something that might be better.
I think that the engine never did lack for fuel with the 5/16ths hoses.
IDT that I would want to tackle them lowers.
Torsion bars are a terrible thing to deal with.
Not too long ago someone did a set of lowers, seemed they had a rough time finding them, then getting them apart and back together.
I dont remember who that was and after reading those posts thought I...
I have the FFM that I removed from My engine some months, might have been a year or two ago.
I will box it up and mail it offt to You if You would like to stay with the FFM.
I think there might also be a seal kit laying innit but I do’n rightly rememer.
I’ll get out to the garage and getta pic...
I like to use the permatex No.1 that comes in a squeeze tube for headbolts, any bolts, that goes to water/coolant jackets.
It is a brownish color.
But IDK about these stud things. Maybe My old tried and true system would not slow down a coolant leak past the threads of a stud. 🤷
Alignment shop here told that My truck needed upper ball joints.
I bought the parts then had them install them.
Saved a phew bucks by doing that.
Might be Your shop would do the same thing, most shops do.
I have an aluminum cover for the underside.
With the cover on and setting in its position it never moves nor bounces around.
I do wanna get one of them carpeted dash covers though.
Working on the back of the engine items.
The FTB FFM went back in.
Have a FP sending unit at the IP and another back at the AD lift pump and have a switch wired in to flip it from pre or post FFM.
Going to change out the coolant temp gauge to match the FP gauge.
The next gauge I am thinking of installin is a transmission pressure gauge.
There already is a transmission temperature gauge on the pillar post.
Also. Between the gauge hole and the coolant temp gauge, in the position of the...
Stringing in a wire for a FP gauge back at the Air Dog LP.
I installed the FFM. And so there will be a pressure gauge phor both sending units, as prescribed by @Will L. I do believe.
I know it is ugly, long as it dont expose its ugly head I dont care.
And so, in this position is at the AD...
I found the wobbly impact 15mm socket and the 15mm ratcheting end wrench to be mighty helpful.
Got them done and that plate switched around. Eldest Boy child come over to give Me a hand.
I had both sides dismounted when He got here. Just a couple bolts holding the mount to the block.
Tonight...
