What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Here is where I set the pump on the new engine. To the advanced, left side. Does this seem like too much advance ? Angle aluminum is setting equally on both sides at the same level.

    VSS problem

Are You sure that it is just resistance of the O ring inserting back into its bore? I always give O rings a nice slathering of dielectric grease to help them slip on in.

    Air in Fuel Injection

I have a fair abundance of 1/2”, 3/8ths” and 5/16ths” SAE30R9 hose setting here. I also just ordered in 10’ of 1/4” SAE30R9 to plumb from the FFM to the water drain valve. If You need hose let me know how many feets of each and I will box and mail it to You. The 1/2 and 3/8ths is what came with...

    Hello..new Hino owner member

Welcome to the forum GT. I would give that a try and see how it goes. As long as air has not entered the anti lock brake system it should work. But I aint no professional on those rigs too.

I think that with this stuff wrapped around the welding cable that it would last indefinetely. I wrapped the new Leroy Diesel oil cooler hoses with the spiral wrap He provides and that is some tough stuff. Even if there was spots on the welding cable with broke insulation, tape them over then...

Guessing at proper belting length for elimination of the vacuum plump. I tried one of two other belts and the tensioner mark was farther into the rectangle. Got two more belts and tried the shorter of the two first with this as the results. This belt is 100-1/4 inches in length. The longer belts...

I was thinking too far advanced gives the predetonation rattle/clatter. Retarded is quieter. 🤷 Seems after I advanced the timing on My engine from around -.45 to -1.50 it clattered a lot more. But then too that was when I installed the newly balanced injectors that were popping at 1950 PSI so I...

Does this still have the side terminal battery cables ? If so, pull the right side positive cables apart. Check that lead washer slug between the cables. Those things become corroded and sort of melt, creating bad connections between the cables. When that happens, then basically, the starter...

I dont have a thread chaser for the metric. Oriellys is open and they didnt have one, neither did ACE. Got back home after buying new bolts, took a old hard bolt from the jug, filed grooves crosswise of the thread and run that into the bores. It went through real easy so I think all was left in...

That round thing is the end of the bolt. The curley Qs is what was left of the threaded, and a little deeper portion of the bolt. I am one happy sumanonofabeech. 😹😹😹

In all of My years of twisting wrenches, breaking bolts, drilling and successfully easy outing them, I have never, ever, seen a bolt break off at the tip like this one did. Left a sort of a ring inside the threads of the hole. Took a sharp punch and tapped it, it moved and broke into pieces. A...
