My original OEM batteries just failed. Not bad for a 2006 AC Delco

7 years, wow. The originals in my 06 made it about 2 years before the passenger side started leaking and made a mess. I think the summer heat down here kills them faster. Those look good and the price wasn't too bad either!

    Oil

Kind of related... VW does not allow anything over B5 in the CR engines because of oil dillution from the post-injection. It just doesnt get the oil hot enough to boil the bio out. My last uoa showed a trace of fuel and there is no bio in the fuel here.

Is a stock 06 Dmax faster than

Good lord ride in the wayback machine. Haven't tried, but at least the JSW would still clean house (and it aint exactly what I would call fast). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xYZu1wy-lM&feature=youtube_gdata_player

    6.5 with recurring codes

Looks like you're getting some excellent help. The door was opened to the drama and closed just as quickly. No, we're not cleaning up.

    6.5 with recurring codes

I could personally care less about everyone's sob stories however following him over here to further air things out doesn't jibe with what will be tolerated. If you guys decide you want to lick your wounds, do it someplace else.

    Maintenance Day

Delvac is the stuff, no question. One hang up... it doesn't meet the almighty VW 507.00 spec for the CR engines (higher phosphorous and sulfur, 1.0% ash vs the .6 in the VW spec, higher viscosity). The M-1 5W30 ESP does, but it shows higher wear averages and is spent by the time the 10k interval...

What is the fastest you have ever driven on the highway (mph)?

^^On a bicycle... 58 going down Hogpen Gap in NE GA which averages 15% for almost 7 miles with lots of switchbacks. Passed a bunch of cars on the way down. Couldn't imagine going 70+ however. The Buell hit 130 a few times but it took 3 weeks and tucking into a ball behind the tiny windscreen to...

Looking for input on foglight/drl locations

Looks like the bumpers on a plain-jane WT without the trim IMO.

Looking for input on foglight/drl locations

I like the three on the lower right. The holes in the OEM diesel bumpers always looked like an afterthought to me.

Looking for input on foglight/drl locations

This would look good without the goofy brush guard.

Looking for input on foglight/drl locations

No sweat, I've always liked the way GMT-400's looked with a pushbar and a set of lights. It beats the way they put the fogs in the valence on new trucks now IMO.

    Why not on a pushbar?

    idenify this usb connector

Pretty certain it's a common micro usb connector. Wal mart and Radio Shack have chargers with the cable end sticking out of the packages for you to try in your phone just in case.

Recommended "things to check" before your warrany runs out...

Check the vent hoses on both diffs. If they're blocked or kinked, or if the check valve is blocked there's a good chance it will cause the axle seals to leak.

What are your biggest pet peeves when it comes to other motorists?

I never took the ball mount out of my trucks. It kept them from getting damaged from being rear ended more than once. The TDI daily driver has a dinky 1-1/4" hitch on it for my bike rack and I always leave the ball mount in that too.

What are your biggest pet peeves when it comes to other motorists?

Most of the list plus other: -Braking (hard) 3 miles before the traffic light or for traffic slowing way in front of you. -Stopping to let others turn left across a multi-lane road when traffic, especially in the other lane, is moving. -Put the phone down. -Ever been at a 4-way stop on a...
