from my remote mounted heath pmd (new, just a couple of weeks old) to above the engine

could a bad pmd cable possibly cause the problem. I just found that my clip came off and the cable was damaged. So far with a new one it seems fine. I'm letting it warm up and gonna try again. It doesn't do it all the time, just randomly.

I had a shop do it. They put in a whole new assembly. Their diesel mechanic supposedly worked for the Chevy dealership before they closed here.
