    1986 Chevy C60 Dump Truck

Nice truck. I used to drive one of those, but it was a 366 gasser. 5 speed with 2 speed axle.

1-2 tons of what, and how many trips? How far? And are you looking for a new truck or an older one?

Do You Really Need A Heavy Duty Truck?

Haven't clicked the link yet. I guess I will, but I fully expect it to be just more stupidity of the type I have come to expect from the mainstream auto rags. Kinda like the people who say something like "all you really need is a Prius;" just maybe not quite that extreme. I won't be surprised if...

Looking to swap out my 6.2 diesel to a 2 STROKE 4-53T any thoughts ?

The 2 cycle Detroits don't even have an IP. Still probably a good idea to add lube to every tankful, but I do that on my newer diesels (6.2, 6.5, Cummins 12V) too. 2 cycle Detroits do require the right engine oil, though. And it's best to buy it by the 55 gallon drum when you find it, so you...

What’s the scoop with Heath Diesel?

I know; bad form to quote my own post. But since a few folks seem to have misconstrued my statements as denigrating the Dmax, allow me to clarify my position. For the average person who is thinking about buying his first diesel truck (let's say used and sub-$25K), my personal recommendation...

What’s the scoop with Heath Diesel?

I've seen and had plenty of problems with aluminum heads, and with electronic controls. That "failure prone system" is mostly caused by the stock mounting location of the pcm, and the fix is simple, well known and inexpensive. Also, 22 years is nothing. My Ford gas V10 is nearly that old and has...

What’s the scoop with Heath Diesel?

That's bad to hear. I don't plan on ever going to a Duramax. Just don't like aluminum-head, electronic controlled diesels. I know the 6.5 is electronic control, but it can be dealt with and even reverted to mechanical if necessary.

    Hello from north Alabama!

That's a good idea. Especially the quick couplers; I could power all kinds of stuff with that.
