Well, I have a little bit of time tonight so I thought I would post some pics. I tried the SD card from my camera in the computer, the card that I've been using all along, and the computer is telling me that the card needs formatting before it can be used. I don't know whats up with that, but it...
I don't have any long term experience with Tygon. What I had was on the pickup for about 2 to 3 years. It seemed to be holding good when I recently tore down the motor. I replaced it because I was concerned that the Tygon would have stretched enough to not go back on tight afterwards.
Don
No noticeable change in power, even though it did drop cubes just a bit from 6.5 cubes to 6.2 cubes. One thing I did notice after I spent the first night at Prineville, the glow plugs are not working at all. Took a bit of cranking, but it still started. I have a tendency to pack a lot of...
I got Tygon fuel line for my return hoses, which seems to be more commonly used for small engines. It is semi-transparent, almost lemon yellow in color. I used it previously on my motor, and with the motor refresh I put on new Tygon, both times without clamps, and no apparent leaks.
You may...
I've been back for several days now, but I'm playing catch up on a project for my daughter's chickens. I promised her that as soon as I got back I would build a covered yard/fenced area for her chickens. I have most of the material needed, so not much cash outlay, just time. Then, we got a call...
IT'S ALIVE!!! As soon as I finish this post my son and I are leaving for hunting. I drove it a bit this afternoon to start the breakin, but this trip will have to continue it. We'll be going over the Cascades Mountains on the Santiam Pass, so that should be good for additional breakin.
We'll...
I've got a quick question about ground wires. According to what I can find there are supposed to be three wires on the dipstick mount post on the back of the right head. I can only find two, a large black wire (about 12 ga) and the braided wire that runs to the firewall, and then down to the...
You made some good progress there. I have most everything done. Need to finish the turbo oil supply and drain lines. The drain line is in place, just needs the rubber coupler tightened. The supply line is also in place. But, since this is a 90 6.2 block it doesn't have the supply port in the...
That is a real bummer Nate. When we dropped mine in the exhaust manifolds, lower intake, and motor mounts were all in place, but didn't have the turbo on.
The biggest problem we had was that we couldn't get the motor to set at the correct front to back angle and keep it level from side to side...
Thanks for your interest and support. I've been thinking back on what it might have been like if I installed just the transmission first, and then the transfer case. I think you're right, there is no one way that could be easier.
I was really hoping to get the motor started today. Didn't quite...
I've only got a few minutes here, daylight is showing outside, so I have to get back at the pickup. I do have some more pics from the assembly, but have been spending very little time on the computer the past few days. And, yes, the driver sure made installing the front seal so much better and...
Nate, it looks like we are close on doing the same thing. I think we got rings from Leroy about the same time. I've got some pictures of the motor assembly, but I've been spending very little time on the computer the last few days. Instead, spending my time on getting things back together...
A few years back I had the whole interior out of my pickup doing powered mirrors (didn't have any wiring for any kind of mirrors), and general cleaning. Since I had everything out, down to bare metal, I decided to add an accessory socket to each side of the rear extended cab. The socket was put...
I've been volunteering some maintenance repairs, mostly plumbing, at church for the past few years now that I have a bit of time to do so. Anyway, I spent some time there this afternoon and came home a few minutes ago to find a package on the front porch. Hmmm, says it came from Leroy.
Now...
I just checked the USPS web site and this is what I found, "Your item arrived at the Post Office at 3:48 am on October 2, 2015 in ALBANY, OR" YEEEHAWW!!!! Now that only means that sometime today it will be delivered. Out here in rural Albany the mail will arrive anywhere from 2 PM to 6 PM.
On...
Here's the thread (Kubota Ranger-Oregon, by flyinmonkeys32) that introduced me to the Kubota v2203. http://www.dieselbombers.com/diesel-engine-conversions/index3.html On this thread you will find some posts by FTE. It was his Ranger that I got to drive. There are several threads...
I've been following a thread from http://www.dieselbombers.com/diesel-engine-conversions/ about putting a Kubota v2203 four cylinder diesel into a Ranger. I actually got to drive for a short distance an older model Ranger with that motor in it. It did have a turbo on it, although I'm not sure...
I got an e-mail from Paypal this afternoon saying a package from Leroy Diesel was being shipped by USPS. The time listed by USPS for "A shipping label has been prepared for your item at 10:51 pm on September 29, 2015" is a bit confusing as I received the e-mail at 3:51 PM, and I think there is...
Thanks for the reply WW, as I was really hoping you would chime in. You appear to have a lot more experience with "refreshed" diesel motors than the average owner. What you are saying goes right along with what I've been reading and thinking. The lower end has already been broken in. The rings...
