From posts on other websites it looks like they tried to sue Dodge…and lost. Sorry SnowDrift, this is derailing the heck outta your thread….

Picture is from 1998. FARM SHOW Followup, Hide æN Side Innovative Truck Storage. Company is no longer in business. The set up was $3000, sold as a kit, Fiberglass bed sides.

Pulled the 2” blocks out. Easier than going in. Truck is sitting level again. After the August / September road trips are over I’ll find a shop that will do the welding and start on getting the differential back up where it belongs. Man it has been a long circular journey trying to unscrew this...

No, Les Schwab will not install parts they didn't procure and there's no way they'll procure anything from Rough Country. Return Authorization received from RC and these units are going back. So, I had them un-screw what I did to the OEM upper's and I've only raised the torsion bars by about an...

Truck's back. Les Schwab guy said it was easy, I'd done all the hard work. Turns out all I needed was a bigger pickle fork. Didn't know I was behind in the pickle fork department. Coulda saved a little $$ but, they re-aligned it since I did turn up the torsion bars an inch or so. Drives straight...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Somehow I missed the info in this post. Thank you. I ordered them this morning. I found the bolts I did have saved after we got home but…3/8”, not M-10. I’d have screwed up and tried these out had it not been for this experience. So, again, thanks for the assist.

So, after several hours of struggling to free the upper control arm ball joint from the knuckle I had to pause and think all this through and came to a realization that ya'll probably wanted to say but, were too say. The root issue is the differential's positioning (lowered) and I'm chasing my...

Sorry lads, 'Pictures or it didn't happen.' 'Stray [truck] Strut.' Photo angle almost makes it worse than it is. 2" lift blocks and Old Bilstein 5100 New Upper Control Arms. I may still have the old style ones laying around. If so, I'll do a comparison picture post up.

Got the new differential cleaned up, de-rusted and applied a couple coats of POR-15 to keep things under control. Shot some gloss black caliper paint over the POR-15 to keep it in place. Got the 2" blocks and 5100 series Bilstein's installed on the back. With its tail up in the air the truck...

The lowered differential and the oversized bump stops are two separate issues. The aftermarket bump stop that 'fits your truck' looks to be about 3x the size of actual OEM. That's how it can be made to rest on the lower control arm. Makes for a lousy, noisy ride too. Technically, there's...

I liked it too and I’ve missed it. Yesterday I tried turning up the torsion bars and swapping in the 5100 series shocks. Of course, I discovered a couple of issues. Torsion Bars. With the front end off the ground, the upper control arms are almost in contact with the frame mount that limits...

I don't think omitting that hefty bottom bracket, OEM or otherwise, is anything but a recipe for a new differential. That's a hunk of steel in there originally and the drop bracket isn't a light weight item either. Here's some shots of the four brackets that comprise the differential drop in...

"Go Big or Go Home" Get stuck at home when the parts bill gets too big. Looking at recycle yards for a new diff. Might as well, this one lasted, oh, a month? Actually, several years and would have lasted longer but, we now all know why it hasn't and 'this is why we can't have nice things.'

The output shaft seal is leaking from the latest impacts of the tripot coming apart. Prior to that, the truck was house trained, garage and driveway friendly. Even after the hit, without a half-shaft spinning because I had the ‘hub-stub’ only in place, the seal wasn’t leaking. Can’t restore...

Well, I’m the one who’s got his finger on the the ID-10-T Mode Engaged” button. More ignorant really but, feeling stooopid. I’m checking out the differential and now know what a “Differential Lowering Bracket” looks like vs. OEM lower diff. Mount. It looks like this:

Edit time limit expired. BLUF, the lift kit I bought in 2007 didn't have a drop kit for the differential. With reference to the picture in post #76 above... Now, for the Upgraded Set Up, one has to cut the lower driver's side differential mount from the frame, grind it down to ensure clearance...

An additional thought on the differential drop bracket. On the gasser truck, to drop the differential a little or, with a 6" lift a lot, wouldn't be an issue but, you just can't do that with the 6.5 because of the front drive shaft to exhaust cross over clearance. It's tight as it is and...

Not to worried about the alignment from a cost or execution standpoint as I’m still inside the Les Schwab ‘warranty’ period. They honored it when other work has been done to suspension in the past. You might be on to something with the differential mount. I didn’t think the 3” Rough Country...

Appreciate the insights, observations and suggestions. Will L., the vanishing bump stops are a mystery. I give credit, if any, to the shop that installed the lift back in N.C. I shoulda known I'd made a big mistake when I notice the truck driving sideways/crabwalking down the road when I was...
