Doing an R/R of the lines isn't that hard, just a bit of a PITA.
Hint - get some good goggles to keep the crap out of your eyes that you knock off the top of the trans.
Hint #2 - make sure the hose you get is diesel-fuel line. The stuff degrades regular hoses.
If you think the PMD is getting...
If it 'seems' to be eating PMDs, check your wiring harness and connections. Your harness has an RF filter in it that you can just remove and toss. The other thing you might do is put some clear tubing on the return line from the IP and see if there are any bubbles in the fuel returning to the...
I told ya... PMD.
Mine did exactly that until I changed it out. Once they start to get flaky, they turn female. When they want to, they work fine. But if you start expecting them to behave rational, look out.
Well, my friend, as they say, Search is your friend...
If y'all take a look in the 6.5 Technical Library, information like that (and the paperclip trick) has been assembled by all of the fine members in this-here place...
Hi Leo! Enjoying spring, yet?
With the clip in, turn the key on, press both brake and APP to the floor. Hold 15 seconds, release, repeat. Shut off key and remove clip.

PMD
The first time, it went into limp mode. Shutting off and restarting reset things (you can do that on the fly, if you're not in traffic)
It will happen more frequently until it starts stalling and not starting. Watch for big surges, especially when backing up.
Too bad you're on the other end of the earth these days - I'd buy a truck that you had worked on. At least I'd know that all the stuff YOU had fixed was done right.
I wear my seat belts ALL the time. Too many years driving big rigs, busses, etc - I HAVE to stay in the driver's seat to have any hope of controlling that vehicle, and if that vehicle gets out of control, people are dead.
That being said, I had an old chevy with only lap belts, and I just...
Cmon, BJ ... you love that truck, and you know it. Without a little drama in your life, you would get bored and start taking stuff apart just for kicks.
:D
Just a few thoughts...
- Leroy's question is important; the wrong brand of thermostats will cause you grief. The problem isn't as severe as in a 1-tstat system, but it still exists.
- Ferm's observation is important, too ... the right fan clutch and fan make a huge difference, and I've never...
Welcome, tumuch! How is life in Prince George this year?
Sorry you got your posts edited over there... I didn't think they were still doing that. Won't happen here, so long as you keep it clean. Dig in, fill out your signature, pull up a stump by the fire, and get to know the guys... This...
Yep. Up here, in winter, part of the mpg drop is the crappy winter fuel blend (to keep from gelling), the rest is lower operating temps. That's one reason why winter fronts are such a big deal for us.
Q#1 - How many RPMs were you getting to push 24 PSI boost from an ATT and how long did you hold it there?
Q#2 - How old (yrs, # miles) were the lifters?
Q#3 - What kind of oil has been run in them?
Lifters lose oil when compressed, then need to refill when uncompressed. Sticky check, varnish...
Of course, you were wearing your PPE, right Dan?
You're as bad as me... spend all that time wearing a hardhat, never hit my head once. Then I get home and work without it, and hit my head on freakin' everything.
