Is anyone here running a compushift pro/sport controller? I'm looking at getting one for my cummins swap, just wondering if it's worth it or not. I was originally looking at a SimpleShift controller. Any other suggestions/advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
Thank you for your advice! As I'm sure some of you have found out, I dont know much about Torque Converters & transmissions in general. Still learning as I go. I honestly don't know if what I said is what the gentleman at the transmission shop said. I probably misunderstood him.
The cummins is...
Alrighty guys. So I am in the process of swapping a 12v cummins into my truck & I'd like to rebuild the 4l80e that's in the truck as it has 210k on it & I believe it just needs a rebuild period.
I purchased a torque converter from a local shop (D&P Products) & had it set up for my application...
Hmm. Guess this is just how shes gonna be for now. I don't have access to a scanner, & as I said before, I don't really want to continue buying parts for an engine that won't be staying for long. Thanks for ya'lls help tho, I appreciate it!
That problem was caused by a few things. The flex plate had a shim spacing it away from the crankshaft, & the starter had a couple shims spacing it away from the block. On top of that, the starter was also missing the forward bracket which keeps the starter from rotating/twisting. These things...
New symptom. When the truck is cold, it seems to work fine. When it gets warm is when it starts losing power. OD worked fine when I first started an hour trip. On the way back, OD no longer really wanted to function. Took a while for it to finally kick in. Going up a steep hill unloaded CCLB...
Are you talking about a bracket like this? Before you look at the pic, please note: this is not my truck. This is a chummins swap I was looking at buying a long time ago. Notice the mount plate for the alternator. Also note the ungodly amount of bigger nuts & washers used as spacers. But this...
Oh so you're suggesting mock something up & have a welder actually make it? That would work. I've been looking around. Theres a website called screaminseemanoffroad.com that sells a high mount ac/alt bracket. But it's pretty expensive. And that bracket doesn't allow me to use my alternator. It...
Do you have a link or picture of the Ford mid mount a/c? Not sure if I said it earlier, I unfortunately don't know how to weld. I can drill & make stuff with bolts & screws though. Doesn't look as nice & not as compact, but we'll see. I'll look for the Ford ac mount.
Hey man. So I am in the process of doing a 12v swap into my 96 K3500. Not as cool as a H1, but nonetheless I am very excited. One of the problems I've come upon is the A/C & Alternator mounting issues. There are companies that make conversion brackets, however, I'm not a fan of some of them...
I completely get it. I hope no one took my comment earlier as attitude. I have nothing against a 6.5, I have owned 2 of them. I think they are neat engines. The short story of why I'm doing a cummins swap is it's been in the works a long time. When I got my first truck at age 16 (6 years ago), I...
Ok. So I have two trans temp sensors. One is in the pan, & the other is in line with one of the trans cooler lines. The one in the pan gets up to around 170 hottest. The other one gets up to around 200 to 210. Can I put a pressure gauge in place of the temp sensor that's in line of the trans...
No black smoke. Turbo was rebuilt around 1k miles ago. So I got the truck stock. She was ok running. Then I lifted it big tires, etc. Worsened it but still ok. Then I hauled a cummins with it over a steep grade & ever since she hasnt been the same. Engine is still good & health but I feel like...
Relatively stock. Motor has marine injectors, diamond eye crossover, 4" exhaust, s&b intake. That's about it. Duramax cooling fan. Besides the lift kit mentioned earlier, that's it.
Hey guys. So, this is nothing new. Just kinda curious. I have a cclb 3500 lifted 6". 4.10 gears. I am running stock wheels & tires right now. This truck doesn't like to move. At all. Under 50, its ok. But still grumpy. I was going down the freeway (steep hill) today, & it was hard pressed to get...
Ok. So I unplugged CPS. Took forever to start, but it finally did & ran good. Then plugged cps back in & unplugged OS. Truck would not start. It would fire like once & die. So CPS bad right?
