    99 Suburban 6.5 to 5.9 Cummins Swap

Also the ABS module is interfering with the routing of the driverside intercooler pipe, so I'm bypassing the ABS system altogether. Before you get all up in arms, the ABS is already non-functioning, it went the way of the dinosaurs when I put a 60 under the front. Currently the ABS module is...

    99 Suburban 6.5 to 5.9 Cummins Swap

what intercooler pipes are y'all using? I got the OEM ones from a 94-98 but I'm using the 03-04 manifold so the turbo is down and back. Will this be a custom pipe on the passenger side?

    99 Suburban 6.5 to 5.9 Cummins Swap

trans cooler: the 6.5 had a transcooler in the rad, and then a secondary in the cooling stack. With my new dodge radiator, I'm trying to decide how to tackle this. I have considered a primary in the cooling stack and then a secondary Derale with fan under the the cab. How has everyone...

    99 Suburban 6.5 to 5.9 Cummins Swap

I cut the pads along the line prescribed by all instructions I’ve seen. The mounts are simply pushed as far forward as possible. Here’s a better pic.

    99 Suburban 6.5 to 5.9 Cummins Swap

Nothing really yet. I talked to Paul at SSOR, he said the distance from top hole on the motor mount frame pad to the other was approx 22'. My engine is in, and it's a pain in the ass to get in there alone, and I haven't really had the time to spend some real time on it since the weekend...

    99 Suburban 6.5 to 5.9 Cummins Swap

I am having some trouble with the installation of the engine into the SSOR motor mounts, information is detailed in the thread linked below. https://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/threads/adventure-vehicles-nw-vs-autoworld-motor-mounts.47790/page-4

Adventure Vehicles NW vs Autoworld Motor Mounts

I talked with Paul Seeman this morning. He's getting me measurements from frame rail to frame rail at the motormounts sometime today, I'll head to my shop this evening to see if there is an issue with a spread frame rail. If not, he said he'll work with me in getting the problem resolved. A+...

Adventure Vehicles NW vs Autoworld Motor Mounts

The frame rail mounts are just as described, driver side protrudes out into the engine bay farther than the passenger side. Swapping the asymmetrical motor mounts side to side doesn’t make up for the difference. I agree about the effects elsewhere, The coresupport and everything as far as I...

Adventure Vehicles NW vs Autoworld Motor Mounts

It is correct, there are two different size mounts, I asked Seeman, he said “long” mount is for driver side. Photo of mount on website is the same. If I were to make a puck as suggested, wouldn’t it be approx 1”? Seems pretty large. Does anyone know correct distance between frame rails?

Adventure Vehicles NW vs Autoworld Motor Mounts

I was thinking the rails were potentially spread, but I really don’t know how they could be spread that much. I’ll check it.

Adventure Vehicles NW vs Autoworld Motor Mounts

Negative. The engine can rotate on the driver side mount to where the bolt hole of the engineside half touches the mount base.

Adventure Vehicles NW vs Autoworld Motor Mounts

I got one side of my SSOR mounts installed last night. Driver side mount is in and connected to Block, used “long” mount for the driver, but it is a solid 1”+ horizontal gap before the holes will line up. Am I doing this wrong?

Is your truck a 6.5 CCSB? If so, I think there were 6 of that configuration built.

Yeah, CARB is the worst. They’ve crippled this state beyond repair.

It’s an Arizona vehicle. Otherwise it would have to be a 1999+ 24 valve.

Thank you. My experience with the swap can be summed up by this: “it’s easy and quick. unless you want to do it properly”.

Big name tuners are no longer selling "off road/race" tuning

Friend has a '71 F100 with a 347sbf. He couldn't get a piece of exhaust pipe sent to CA for it. The laws are draconian and absurd. Hopefully the car guys start to learn what us gun owners/dealers have known forever.
